At the talks, the two sides informed each other about the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation, Party building and political system; assessed the results of implementing the contents of the memorandum of understanding signed on August 21, 2023 in Salavan province; and exchanged many practical contents to continue improving the effectiveness of propaganda - mass mobilization and training work in the new situation.
Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Ho Dai Nam introduced an overview of the socio-economic development situation of Quang Tri province in 2024.

Digital transformation has been promoted in all fields; the political system has been streamlined, effective and efficient. Propaganda and mass mobilization work has achieved many outstanding results, especially the digitization of theoretical training content for cadres and party members on the internet platform.
The Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee is also an agency that effectively advises and directs the organization of public opinion surveys, sea and island propaganda, foreign information; applies information technology in orienting public opinion, handling bad and toxic information on cyberspace; builds and operates sets of criteria to evaluate specific work within the unit.
From June 1, 2025, Quang Tri province will merge Quang Tri Newspaper and Quang Tri Radio and Television Station according to the converged newsroom model, to improve communication quality and meet new requirements.
On the Salavan side, Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department Chansamon Phommaseng informed that the province continues to maintain political stability, promote self-reliant and independent economic development; total investment capital reached over 577 billion kip, budget revenue reached nearly 77 billion kip. Many cultural and tourism festivals were held to promote local potential. Party building, cadre training, and political and ideological education were focused on.

Activities of political theory training, mobile propaganda, and public opinion surveys were effectively implemented. Activities of educating the tradition of the special Laos-Vietnam relationship were regularly and extensively organized among cadres, party members, and the masses.
The two sides highly appreciated the effectiveness of the implementation of the 2023 memorandum of understanding, especially in theoretical training, propaganda via social networks and gathering public opinion.

This meeting agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the period 2025 - 2030, with some key contents such as: enhancing the exchange of information and experience in the field of propaganda - mass mobilization, propaganda; coordinating propaganda on the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos; organizing training courses on propaganda on cyberspace, skills in writing party history, skills in orienting public opinion; creating conditions for cadres of both sides to study, research, and share work experiences. It is expected that in 2026, Quang Tri province will organize two training courses for cadres of the Salavan Provincial Propaganda Department.
The two sides also agreed to continue to coordinate research and exchange to advise the two provincial standing committees to maintain and enhance the special solidarity and friendship between Quang Tri and Salavan. The next meeting will be hosted by Salavan province, the time will be agreed in the near future.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of both sides signed a memorandum of cooperation.

During the working trip, the delegation of the Salavan Provincial Propaganda Department offered incense and flowers at the Memorial House of General Secretary Le Duan and visited My Thuy Deep-water Port - an important driving force to promote economic development in the North Central region, contributing to enhancing trade and connectivity between Vietnam and Laos.
