VNeID application integrates a list of wanted subjects nationwide for users to look up.
VNeID (short for "Vietnam Electronic Identification") is an electronic identification application on mobile devices developed by the National Population Data Center, under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. The application has both Android and iOS versions.
This application was officially put into use by the Ministry of Public Security from July 18, 2022.
The VNeID application was created to replace traditional documents, identifying citizens on a digital platform. Accordingly, VNeID allows the integration of all personal documents of citizens on a digital platform such as: Citizen ID card, driver's license, health insurance card, social insurance card...

VNeID is integrating more and more features to become a super application serving national digital transformation (Illustration photo: NT).
With the goal of turning VNeID into a super application to serve the national digital transformation process, the National Population Data Center has increasingly integrated many new and useful features into the VNeID application, one of which is the feature of looking up wanted subjects nationwide.
How to use VNeID to look up the list of wanted subjects nationwide
To look up the list of wanted subjects through the VNeID application, users can follow these steps:
- Activate the VNeID application on your smartphone, log in to your electronic identification account.
- After logging in, from the main interface of the application, select “Other Services”, then select “Wanted Information” from the menu that appears.

- A list of wanted subjects nationwide will be listed. In this list, you can click on the subjects to see details about personal information (year of birth, place of birth, permanent residence), crimes, identification characteristics...

- The VNeID application also allows you to look up wanted subjects whose permanent residence is in the locality where the user lives. To use this feature, you fill in the province or city where you live in the "Permanent residence of wanted subjects" box and press the "Search" button.
Immediately, a list of wanted criminals residing in your locality will be listed.

- Users can also view the list of wanted subjects according to the level of "Normal", "Dangerous" or "Special", depending on the crime and severity of the subjects.
To use this feature, at the interface displaying the list of wanted subjects, click on the filter icon, then select the type of wanted subjects to display, such as "Special" wanted and "Dangerous" wanted, then click the "Search" button.

You can also fill in the “Wanted Person's Permanent Residence” information to shorten the list of wanted persons.
After pressing the “Search” button, a list of wanted subjects matching the information requested by the user will be listed.
Based on this list, you can better understand the wanted subjects in your area to be vigilant or to report to the authorities if you have information about these subjects.
If users discover wanted subjects, they can send feedback to the authorities via VNeID. Citizens' feedback information will be sent to the commune-level police where the information about the wanted subject is discovered. Upon receiving the feedback information, the police force will take measures to verify and arrest the subject.
In addition, readers can follow Dan Tri 's instructions here to report crimes to authorities using the VNeID application.
Note: When people discover a wanted person, they should immediately report it to the nearest police station or through the VNeID application. Do not approach or arrest them on your own.
