After nearly half a month of being delayed due to floods, in recent days, the construction site of Van Ly bridge project and the access road has become bustling again in the area where the site has been handed over.
According to engineer Dao Hong Ngoc, technical officer of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, for the Van Ly bridge crossing the Thu Bon river, the contractor only needs to lay asphalt concrete on the bridge surface, install expansion joints and install the lighting system. The work of laying asphalt concrete on the bridge surface and the eastern approach road (in Go Noi commune) should have been completed in October, but due to the impact of rain and then four floods, it has not been able to proceed.
The road section leading to the Go Noi commune bank (branch of route N1) has completed the compacted roadbed, crushed stone roadbed for the main roadbed, the branch road connecting to DT610B road at the end of the route and preparing to lay asphalt concrete. The branch road leading to route N2 is located in Dien Ban Tay commune. The construction contract progress is 900 days, from September 30, 2023, expected to be completed in April 2026. As of early November, the value of the implemented volume reached about 190/423.86 billion VND (about 45% of the contract value).
Engineer Bui Huy Phu, an officer of the Road Engineering Center 3, is the chief supervisor of the Van Ly bridge and access road project. He said that the construction of the access road through Dai Loc commune and the access road through Dien Ban Tay commune has been significantly affected due to many problems with site clearance.
More worryingly, in the construction areas of the intersections with routes DT609B and DT609C (Dai Loc commune), routes DT609 and DT605 (Dien Ban Tay commune), the resettlement work for households subject to complete clearance has not progressed well, due to the construction of the resettlement area.
Belonging to the N1 branch, Dai Loc commune currently has 2 households affected by land acquisition who have not yet built houses near the M2 bridge abutment. Therefore, the contractor has not been able to construct the access road to Van Ly bridge. On the N2 branch, Dien Ban Tay commune has handed over about 80% of the 3km long agricultural land.

After the on-site inspection on October 8, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council sent a document to the City People's Committee requesting direction and urging to remove obstacles in site clearance, resettlement, and construction of specific land prices related to the Van Ly bridge project and access roads.
In particular, the investor is the Quang Nam Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, in coordination with the Department of Construction and local authorities, to study a plan to connect Van Ly Bridge (basically completed) with existing university and rural traffic routes to temporarily solve the travel needs of people on both sides of the bridge, while the roads are not yet completed.
Engineer Dao Hong Ngoc added that, following the direction of the competent authority and the investor, the contractor has a plan to accelerate the construction of the road section from the M2 bridge pier to the No. 1 overpass, approaching the DH11.DB route (Dien Ban Tay commune). In addition, strive to basically complete the No. 1 bridge before the Lunar New Year 2026.
In the case of agricultural land located between the N1-N2 intersection and bridge No. 1, the construction unit recommends that the investor work with Dai Loc commune to find a solution soon, to temporarily connect traffic from Van Ly bridge to route DH11.DB and vice versa on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2026.
