Investing in and upgrading transport infrastructure connecting to border gates
According to the summary report of the Vietnam border trade infrastructure development program to 2025, with a vision to 2030 (referred to as the Program) of the Provincial People's Committee, in the province, there are currently 22 border markets in 14 border communes, which are places for essential goods trading between residents of the two countries.
The province has mobilized maximum resources to invest in upgrading transport infrastructure connecting to border gates, while integrating with investment capital from the budget; allocating a prescribed proportion from border gate infrastructure fee revenue to increase investment and upgrade technical infrastructure at international border gates, main border gates, border routes, exit roads, and border patrol roads.
Among them, there are key projects such as the nearly 40 km border patrol road (completed and put into use); the DT.794 route (phase 2) about 16 km long and 62.74 m bridge completed and put into use; upgrading and expanding the road connecting to Tan Nam international border gate (section from Tan Binh Border Guard Station to the intersection of DT.788 and DT.783) 11 km long under construction, expected to be completed in 2025. These projects help strengthen connectivity, facilitate import and export and effectively serve the work of border management and protection.
In addition, the management, inspection, supervision and advisory activities to handle complex issues arising on the border are closely coordinated between the Vietnamese and Cambodian authorities to ensure political security, social order, create a stable environment for border residents to feel secure in trading and exchanging goods, promote border trade activities, and contribute to the development of the lives of residents in border areas.
Investing nearly 6,300 billion VND in logistics and warehousing
The province aims to develop border trade to become a driving force and important factor for the socio -economic development of Tay Ninh province and the southern key economic region.
In particular, the border economic zones (Moc Bai, Xa Mat) and border gates in the province become the driving force for economic growth of Tay Ninh province and become a new dynamic region; an important trade hub of the Southeast region and the Southern key economic region, between Vietnam and Cambodia and the ASEAN region; a center for border gate services, international container transit ports and logistics services; a center for finance, trade and land border services in the Southeast region.
The Provincial People's Committee has submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval of the Master Plan for the construction of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone until 2045, with a total area of about 21,284 hectares; submitted to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal of the task of adjusting the master plan for Xa Mat Border Gate Economic Zone until 2045, with a scale of adjusting the master plan of about 34,890 hectares.
In March 2025, the Provincial People's Committee approved the detailed planning task for the Phuoc Tan main border gate construction investment project (Chau Thanh district) with a land area of 20.78 hectares. These are important foundations for the formation of new economic driving forces in the border area.
To date, the province has attracted nearly VND6,297 billion for 15 warehouse and logistics projects in the border areas of the province. These include the Logistics Center, ICD and Tay Ninh General Port project in Hung Thuan commune (Trang Bang town), with a scale of 259.22 hectares, total investment capital of about VND3,626 billion; the Moc Bai Logistics Center project is located in the Moc Bai International Border Gate area (Ben Cau district) with an area of about 10 hectares, the proposed investor is YCH Group (Singapore). These projects not only increase the capacity to store and distribute goods but also expand the space for long-term trade development, in line with the orientation of developing modern, green and digital trade infrastructure.
Striving for double-digit economic growth
In 2025, Tay Ninh province aims to achieve double-digit economic growth as directed by the Prime Minister. To achieve the 10% growth target, creating the premise and momentum for growth in the new period, Tay Ninh has been focusing on reviewing and thoroughly handling shortcomings and obstacles, calling for investment to complete infrastructure, wharves, improve operational quality, serve the needs of import and export of goods at border gates; put into operation parking lots, vehicle assembly at ports; implement projects to build import-export warehouses and logistics in some border economic zones; have appropriate solutions to remove obstacles to soon implement projects of logistics centers, dry ports and important general ports. The province hopes that the economy will achieve double-digit growth rates in 2025.
In the context of the world and domestic situation continuing to have many fluctuations, Tay Ninh determined to focus on inheriting and promoting the achievements, at the same time solving difficulties and obstacles to best complete the tasks and goals set out in the plan. To realize the development goals, Tay Ninh proposed a series of specific tasks and solutions.
In particular, perfecting mechanisms and policies, reviewing and adjusting development targets, effectively implementing the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the socio-economic development plan. Administrative reform, streamlining the apparatus, improving the efficiency of government operations in the direction of "Straight - Lean - Strong - Effective - Effective - Efficient", associated with streamlining the payroll, improving the quality of the staff. Developing infrastructure, speeding up the progress of key projects such as Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, Phuoc Dong Industrial Park Phase 3, regional connecting traffic infrastructure.
Restructuring the economy, developing sustainable agriculture, expanding specialized areas, applying high technology, enhancing the value of OCOP products, striving for 71/71 communes to meet new rural standards by the end of 2025; promoting public investment, focusing on capital disbursement.
In addition, urban development and planning, completing the planning of Moc Bai and Xa Mat border gate economic zones; digital transformation, promoting online public services; training human resources, improving labor skills to meet the needs of socio-economic development.
Protect the environment, control waste from production, classify waste at source, strengthen the treatment of cross-border environmental pollution; ensure national defense and security, maintain political stability, social order and safety, fight against crime, cross-border smuggling, reduce traffic accidents...
According to the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, the total investment capital attracted to Tay Ninh reached 10,398 million USD and 285,262 billion VND, including 398 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. As of the end of May 2025, Tay Ninh had newly granted 9 FDI projects, with registered capital of 263.8 million USD and 23 domestic direct investment (DDI) projects, with registered capital of 2,401 billion VND. |
