Bac District: Storms blow off roofs of 17 houses

According to information from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Bac district, from 3-4 pm on April 21, moderate rain occurred in the district, with heavy rain and thunderstorms affecting 17 houses. Of which, Tu Ly commune had 10 houses, Nanh Nghe commune had 1 house, Da Bac town had 5 houses, Vay Nua commune had 1 house; 2 houses had their roofs blown off over 50%, 15 houses had their roofs blown off under 30%.

The storm caused the roof of a household in Da Bac town (Da Bac) to completely collapse.

In addition to the damage to houses, in Tu Ly commune, about 2 hectares of crops and 2 hectares of forestry trees were affected, with a damage level of less than 30%. The total damage caused by this storm in the whole district is about 100 million VND.

Immediately after the disaster, the District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense coordinated with the authorities of communes and towns to urgently develop a plan to support the people. For households whose roofs were more than 50% blown off, temporary evacuation of people and property was organized to surrounding households to ensure safety. For households with minor damage, local forces and people supported cleaning and re-roofing, helping people to soon stabilize their lives.
