No damage was reported after six rockets were fired towards Israel. Lebanon-based Al Mayadeen TV said the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility.

Israel said it carried out artillery and drone strikes against missile launchers in Syria. The strikes came amid heightened tensions between Israel and Palestinian groups following Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan earlier this week.
The site in Jerusalem's Old City, sacred to both Muslims and Jews, who call it the Temple Mount, has long been a flashpoint, with Jewish visitors in particular openly praying at the mosque despite a government ban.
On Thursday, more than 30 rockets were fired toward Israel from southern Lebanon, drawing cross-border counterattacks from Israel on sites linked to the Islamist Hamas movement in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Israel captured the Golan Heights in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed the 1,200-square-kilometer area in 1981, a move not recognized by most of the international community.
