International visitors to Smart City 2025 Conference and Exhibition increase to record level

The 12th Smart City Conference and Exhibition (SCSE) took place in Taiwan from March 18

The 12th Smart City Conference and Exhibition (SCSE) will take place from March 18 to 21 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (Taiwan) and the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (March 20 to 22). The event is organized by the Taiwan Development Council, the Kaohsiung City Government, and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA).

With the theme "Digital and Green Transformation", this year's largest smart city exhibition in the Asia- Pacific region focuses on AI applications, smart governance, energy efficiency, virtual power plants, sustainability towards net zero emissions and global cooperation.

At the event, leading technology companies will showcase their cutting-edge AI solutions to accelerate Taiwan's digital transformation, including: Acer Group, ASUS, Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone, Foxconn, MiTAC, SECOM, SYSCOM Group, Tatung, Taiwan Mobile, TECO and Quanta.

In addition, the 12th Smart City Application Awards will honor outstanding projects that demonstrate Taiwan's advancements in the smart city field through collaboration between government, business, and academia.

This year, SCSE launched the “Smart City Co-Innovation Pavilion” for the first time, to encourage Taiwanese enterprises to cooperate with domestic and foreign partners to jointly explore smart city solutions. For example, Chunghwa Telecom cooperated with international telecommunications partners such as NTT (Japan), Singtel (Singapore), AIS (Thailand) and IOWN Global Forum to jointly showcase comprehensive optical networks, smart streetlights and smart city applications.

In addition, to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions, SCSE is organizing the first Urban Energy Transformation Award to evaluate local energy efficiency, renewable energy consumption and resource recycling based on open data. Local governments that won two awards (Energy Transformation Award and Resource Circular Promotion Award) will showcase their achievements in the exhibition.

In addition, this year's exhibition also has a display area introducing the future of smart transportation, standards and applications of smart charging stations, the latest electric buses... The Smart Startup program will have the participation of 115 startups from 11 incubators around the world, displaying innovations in smart technology and green sustainable development.

Notably, this year the number of international visitors to the exhibition reached a record high. Specifically, 2,806 international visitors came from 59 countries and territories, 138 cities (up 28% compared to last year). Of which, the 5 countries with the largest number of visitors were: Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan and Hungary.

Last year, the 11th Smart City Conference and Exhibition (SCSE) took place from March 19 and lasted for 4 days in Taipei and Kaohsiung (Taiwan). The event attracted more than 2,000 government officials and leading enterprises from 46 countries and territories.
