Despite warning signs indicating a dangerous area with no crowds, no sitting on the railway tracks, and no placing chairs on either side of the tracks, many foreign tourists still flock to the railway-side cafe street to experience it.
According to Tuoi Tre Online , along the railway line in Dien Bien ward (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi), rows of seats are placed by cafes right next to the buildings on both sides.
Despite the hot weather, the seats were still full. There were also many customers sitting on the second floor.

After the reporters arrived, security personnel at the railway crossing also appeared to prevent tourists from continuing into the railway area.

Having learned about the train track cafes from friends who had traveled to Vietnam, Michael (a British tourist) and his girlfriend visited the street on the afternoon of June 19th. However, when Michael arrived, law enforcement was present, so he had to leave.
"I was very impressed with the street when I saw the video my friend posted on his personal page; very few places have such a distinctive railway line," said Michael.

Many other foreign tourists also lingered but couldn't wait any longer, so they decided to come back later.
According to a cafe owner, the railway street attracts a large number of international tourists every day, and even when there are no guards, they still find ways to enter, check in, and take photos.
"All the shop and cafe owners here are very responsible in protecting the safety of tourists, and the tourists are the same. The incident of the girl running onto the tracks when the train was approaching was just a rare occurrence; we immediately pulled her back to safety."
"Every restaurant has a train schedule for tourists to see. Ten minutes before the train arrives, the restaurants clear the tables and chairs and remind customers to stand neatly in place. There's no question of people rushing out to take pictures when the train arrives," this restaurant owner said.

The cafe owner hopes that the authorities will find a suitable way to manage the railway-side cafe so that it can continue operating, as it attracts a large number of foreign tourists when they visit Hanoi.
Previously, in April 2023, the Hanoi Department of Tourism issued a document requesting that tourism units stop bringing tourists to the railway-side coffee street; however, many tourists still found their way there on their own.

Earlier, on the morning of June 18th, social media shared a video of a girl running onto the train tracks to pose for photos. At that very moment, a train was approaching.
A man standing by the roadside rushed forward to intervene, pulling her to safety just in time before the train arrived.
