According to information from Oxalis Adventure, the company organizing the Son Doong Cave exploration tour (Quang Tri province), they have already reached the target of 1,000 customers for 2026 and are preparing for the exploration trip at the end of January 2026.
In particular, tours to explore Son Doong Cave are already fully booked for 2027.
The fact that tours to explore Son Doong Cave have been fully booked for many years demonstrates the appeal of this adventurous tourism tour and the growing interest in experiential tourism, linked to exploring pristine and sustainable nature, among both domestic and international tourists.
This not only contributes to promoting the image of Vietnamese tourism to the world , but also creates motivation for Quang Tri province to continue preserving and protecting the unique ecosystem of Son Doong Cave in particular and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in general.
Exploring Son Doong Cave is a journey underground to discover magnificent stalactite formations, underground rivers, sinkholes, and even an entire forest growing within the cave, along with unique creatures.

Visitors also have the opportunity to admire the sunlight shining through the cave and conquer the 90-meter-high Vietnam Wall.
Son Doong Cave was discovered in 1990 by Mr. Ho Khanh, a forest worker from Phong Nha, and surveyed by a British-Vietnamese cave exploration team in 2009-2010. The exploration team, along with National Geographic magazine, declared Son Doong Cave the world's largest natural limestone cave in 2009.
Since August 1st, 2013, Son Doong Cave has been open to tourists. To date, 8,552 visitors have conquered this largest cave in the world. Vietnam leads with 3,293 visitors, followed by the United States with 2,271.
Total revenue since its launch is $25.5 million, and the tour operator has contributed $5 million to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, creating direct jobs for 130 local people and hundreds of indirect jobs.
According to representatives from the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, adventure tourism in Phong Nha-Ke Bang has two main segments. Besides the popular experiential tourism products, such as visiting the caves and enjoying recreational activities at Phong Nha Cave and Thien Duong Cave, there is a segment with a higher level of adventure, offering many new and exciting discoveries, requiring tourists to have higher spending power, good health, and more time.
In the first 11 months of 2025, the number of tourists visiting Quang Tri province for experiences and relaxation is estimated to reach nearly 9.6 million (an increase of nearly 17% compared to the same period). Of these, domestic tourists are estimated at over 9.1 million, and international tourists at 450,000.
Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 11,040 billion VND, an increase of 31.7% compared to the same period last year. Quang Tri aims to welcome more than 15 million tourists by 2030.
