Tonight (November 7), the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 will officially open at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. The program is expected to become a turning point, where heritage awakens, converges, and blends into the contemporary flow, creating new economic and cultural values for the thousand-year-old capital.
Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 with the theme "Heritage - Connection - Era" creates a solid connecting axis leading viewers through the journey from the origin to the present and the constant creations towards the future.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Opening Ceremony will mobilize nearly 1,000 professional actors from leading units such as Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, Hanoi Cheo Theatre..., along with the participation of artisans from wards and communes in the capital. All aim to present a vivid picture of the capital's heritage, in harmony with the breath of contemporary life in accordance with the theme "Heritage - Connection - Time". Accordingly, the artisans will play a central role, performing the original identity of the heritage and artistic elements. The program will also recreate a number of festivals and traditional plays of the capital such as: Giao Long dance, Con dia danh bong, Tug of war, Wrestling...

According to General Director Pham Hoang Giang, the opening ceremony is structured into three major chapters, each chapter is a profound interpretation of the general theme: The opening chapter focuses on honoring and recreating the core, long-standing values of Vietnamese culture; Chapter II: Connection - Convergence and inter-regional exchange, carrying an extended message, illustrating "Connection" in many aspects; Chapter III: The era - New vitality of heritage, towards the future and creative aspirations of the Capital. The program is an artistic arrangement to fully convey the message of exchange and development based on traditional foundations.
Although the official opening ceremony will take place on the evening of November 7, since November 1, many cultural events within the framework of the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 have taken place, attracting a large number of people and tourists from home and abroad to participate and respond. For example, on the launching day of the first event with the theme "Heritage Convergence" taking place at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam (November 1-9), a colorful cultural picture opens up, where the quintessence of craft villages, cuisine and culture of regions converge, creating an emotional heritage journey in the heart of the capital; The fashion art program "Ao Dai on the Heritage Road" taking place on the evening of November 2 brings an emotional journey, honoring the beauty of Vietnamese heritage through Ao Dai; Hanoi culinary introduction space with the theme "Flavor of Hanoi" taking place from November 1-16 at Ho Van; Painting exhibition “Thanh Tan Hanoi”, where young creators of the capital interact with heritage…

From now until November 16, Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 has many special activities such as: Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2025 (November 7-9) with the theme "Hanoi Ao Dai - Shining the quintessence of heritage" at Hanoi Museum and Hoan Kiem Lake area; Spiritual night tour program "Ngoc Son - Mysterious Night" (November 8 and November 16) at Ngoc Son Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake with many new experiences; Celebrating 10 years of Tug of War rituals and games recognized by UNESCO (November 15-16) at Long Bien Ward People's Committee and Tran Vu Temple, lane 216 Co Linh Street, Long Bien Ward, Hanoi City.
