Opening of the 9th Press Cup 2025 Football Tournament

On June 5, at Tu Son City Stadium (Bac Ninh Province), the opening ceremony of the 9th National Press Agency Football Tournament Press Cup 2025 took place in a vibrant atmosphere.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, journalist Ho Minh Chien, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Family Magazine and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that 2025 is a special milestone when the Vietnamese press celebrates the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

In that context, the Press Cup is not only a grassroots sports tournament but also a meaningful cultural event, where journalists across the country can meet, exchange, strengthen ties, share and spread professional spirit.

According to journalist Ho Minh Chien, this is also the first time the Press Cup has been held in Bac Ninh , a land of talented people, rich in revolutionary and cultural traditions, where "a ray of sunshine also carries folk songs", hoping to bring more interesting and useful experiences for journalists. Through that, together, we can spread the brand of Kinh Bac land.

Participating in the 9th Press Cup final round in 2025 include 8 teams representing press agencies: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television (VTV), Nha Bao va Cong Luan Newspaper, Military Radio and Television Center, Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Nong Nghiep and Moi Muon Newspaper , Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), and the Joint Forces of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper - Znews.

The teams will be divided into 2 groups, each group of 4 teams will play a round robin, with the top 4 teams advancing to the semi-finals. This format will create exciting competition right from the group stage, requiring teams to be more prepared and thorough.

"The 2025 Press Cup finals will take place over 3 days: June 5, 6 and 7 at Tu Son City Stadium, Bac Ninh Province. A notable highlight of this year's season: The 2025 Press Cup champion will compete in the Vietnam - Thailand International Press Super Cup with the representative team of the Thai Press Federation, taking place on the afternoon of June 8 at Tu Son City Stadium.

"We hope that this year we will continue to witness many great plays, many beautiful goals, many dramatic matches, especially contributing to bringing the image of Vietnamese journalism to the region, through international sports exchanges," journalist Ho Minh Chien shared.
