Thereby, it contributes to enhancing mutual understanding, strengthening and promoting the close and affectionate relationship between the two countries and peoples.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Chairman of Hoi An City - said that the cultural and artistic exchange programs this time were carefully invested in, with traditional and modern influences, demonstrating deep friendship, contributing to honoring and promoting the cultural beauty of the two countries.

The performances at the event always focus on traditional cultural and artistic materials, along with appropriate creativity. This is the basis for preserving and developing local folk art and, more specifically, the basis for Hoi An to apply to join the UNESCO Global Creative Cities Network.
Mr. Yamada Takio - Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam - said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam. He believes that the relationship between Japan and Vietnam has developed strongly and is closely connected as it is today because behind it is the "understanding and empathy between people" created by the long-standing historical and cultural connection between the two countries.
