Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Director of the Thang Long- Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, said: "In 2022, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel heritage promotion space was inaugurated in the ancient town of Provins. This wonderful space has left a deep impression on tourists and international friends. The image of this heritage site, with its rich history spanning over a thousand years and unique archaeological artifacts, despite being located far away, has been brought to your beautiful ancient village. This has brought us great honor and pride, and affirms the effective cooperation we have had over the past time. The two heritage sites, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and the ancient town of Provins, have journeyed together for a long time, stemming from the close and strong cooperative relationship between the two regions of Hanoi and Ile de France."

“At Provins this time, we are introducing images of the Co Loa National Special Monument, a heritage site with many similarities to the ancient city of Provins and with great potential to become a World Cultural Heritage site. Co Loa, a legendary land with the largest earthen citadel in Vietnam and Southeast Asia in ancient times, with unique cultural spaces and festivals, interwoven with legend and reality. We hope that this additional promotional space will be a bridge to help more French and international tourists learn about the heritage of Hanoi and Vietnam. It also represents a further step in the cooperation between the two organizations in this new phase,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang emphasized.

The Hanoi People's Committee and the Ile-de-France Regional Council officially established relations in 1989. Over more than 35 years, the Hanoi-Ile-de-France cooperative relationship has been continuously strengthened and developed in many fields, becoming a model of local-level cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of France.
The Hanoi-Ile-de-France cooperative relationship not only has a long and rich history but also generates numerous highly effective collaborative activities, programs, and projects spanning many fields: environment and sustainable development, urban planning, economic development, innovation and research, culture, heritage, and tourism.

According to the cooperation agreement between the two cities, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center has recently carried out many effective collaborative activities with heritage and tourism management agencies of the Ile de France region, such as: exchanging experiences and developing activities and projects on heritage conservation, tourism development, and restoration of French architectural works at Thang Long Imperial Citadel; exchanging interns and training staff; organizing cross-exhibitions between the two heritage sites, etc.

Based on the results of the cooperation agreement for the period 2019-2022, on October 1, 2024, the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center continued to sign a cooperation agreement with the Provins Ancient City for the next phase, focusing on activities such as: exhibitions and image promotion; tourism promotion; internships and experience exchange; organizing international scientific seminars and conferences; and providing technical support to enhance the value of the Co Loa special national historical site…
The space for promoting the heritage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Co Loa Ancient Relic Site at Provins is the clearest continuation of the sustainable cooperation between the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the ancient town of Provins, opening a new, promising and practical phase of development between the two units, with the goal of preserving and promoting the shared heritage of humanity.

Alongside the implementation of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Co Loa Ancient Town Heritage Promotion Space in the Provins Ancient Town, both sides also launched a cooperation plan in media promotion and heritage introduction: Coordinating the compilation, editing, and posting of articles and images about the Provins Ancient Town on the Thang Long Imperial Citadel's Fanpages (such as Facebook, website, and YouTube) and vice versa; Enhancing the effectiveness of communication in the cooperation program between the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site (Vietnam) and the Provins Ancient Town (Republic of France) through linking the official websites of both sides; Printing joint, bilingual (Vietnamese-French) leaflets and brochures showcasing the distinctive images of the heritage sites of both sides.
