Opening of the 2nd Mass Arts Festival of Lao Cai Province's Border Communes, Wards and Towns in 2025

With the theme "The border is home", on the evening of April 25, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command and the People's Committee of Muong Khuong district to organize the opening ceremony of the 2nd Mass Art Festival of border communes, wards and towns of Lao Cai province in 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of departments, branches, sectors, the Provincial Border Guard Command and a large number of local people.

This year's festival brings together more than 300 non-professional actors from 12 mass art troupes from 26 communes, wards and border towns in the districts of Muong Khuong, Bat Xat, Si Ma Cai, Bao Thang and Lao Cai city. Each troupe creates an art program of 5 or more performances, lasting from 25 to 30 minutes, harmoniously using art forms: singing - dancing - music with content praising the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, the renovation of the homeland and country; the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, the attachment of the border people and border soldiers.

The festival is a particularly meaningful cultural event, contributing to the effective implementation of Plan No. 282 dated June 29, 2021 of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee on implementing the Project "Program of cultural and artistic activities serving remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas for the period 2021 - 2030" in Lao Cai province; celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; creating conditions for cadres, soldiers, artisans, and mass art nuclei in border communes, wards and towns in the province to meet, exchange, share experiences, develop cultural and artistic movements and raise awareness and consciousness in promoting traditional cultural values ​​associated with firmly protecting Vietnam's land border sovereignty .

Through the festival, localities also introduce and promote cultural and tourism potential, attract tourists and create momentum to promote socio -economic development in border areas.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competition program of 6 mass art troupes took place with unique, impressive performances, imbued with the unique identity of each unit, creating a colorful, vibrant, and warm picture of community activities. The performances were all invested in, polished, and tightly structured in terms of content, with consistent, clear themes, closely following the festival theme.

Many performances by mass art troupes participating in the festival were performed right after the opening ceremony.

The festival takes place over 2 days (April 25-26); outstanding performances will be awarded at the closing ceremony on the afternoon of April 26.
