Taking place over 2 days (November 7-8, 2025), the highlight of SEMIEXPO Vietnam 2025 is the Exhibition & NextGen Hub on Innovation & Career Opportunities, Summit - Dialogue Forum with Government Leaders. Along with that are workshops, forums, in-depth discussion sessions and activities connecting supply chains and developing human resources.
Ms. Linda Tan, President of the Southeast Asia Semiconductor Association, commented that Vietnam has continuously updated policies, invested in infrastructure and talent to promote a global, dynamic and strong ecosystem. With the participation of the world's leading prestigious corporations, SEMIExpo Vietnam 2025 also opens up great opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the global semiconductor supply chain.
From aspiration to action
Vietnam, with its great advantage of being a country with stable politics, continuously growing economy for many years, and a young, abundant and creative workforce, is becoming a promising destination for investors in the semiconductor industry.
Realizing this opportunity, Vietnam has established a National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung. The Government has also issued a Strategy for Semiconductor Industry Development to 2030 with a vision to 2050, with the goal of making Vietnam a global semiconductor human resource center by 2030, and a global semiconductor and electronics industry center by 2040.

Vietnam's goal is not only to participate in the global value chain, but also to build an advanced, dynamic and attractive semiconductor industrial ecosystem in the region and the world, contributing to helping Vietnam become self-reliant and develop sustainably in this field. From a traditional manufacturing and assembly destination, Vietnam is transforming strongly, rising to participate deeply in high value-added stages such as design, advanced packaging, and production.
Currently, the country has more than 50 microchip design enterprises with about 7,000 engineers, along with 15 enterprises and more than 10,000 technicians participating in the packaging, testing and manufacturing of semiconductor equipment and materials.
Traditional major partners such as Samsung, Intel, Amkor, Foxconn, Hana Micron continue to expand their investment and production scale in Vietnam, demonstrating the cost efficiency, productivity and product quality in Vietnam. The world's leading technology corporations such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Coherent, Marvell have also chosen Vietnam as a strategic base for researching and developing semiconductor chips, building factories and expanding supply chains.
In particular, Viettel's first chip factory is being accelerated, marking an important first step in Vietnam's journey to master chip manufacturing technology. These results are a testament to the confidence of global investors, and at the same time demonstrate Vietnam's strategic progress in its journey of "leapfrogging" - development based on knowledge, innovation and international cooperation.
As a Government agency performing the function of state management of socio-economic development strategies and plans, investment and enterprise management, the Ministry of Finance has directed the National Innovation Center (NIC) - the core of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem, to coordinate with elements in the ecosystem to develop the semiconductor industry.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam emphasized the Ministry of Finance's commitment to accompanying businesses, technology corporations, institutes and international organizations, focusing on promoting public-private cooperation, strengthening the 3-party linkage between the state - schools - businesses. At the same time, selectively attracting FDI capital flows into high-value stages such as advanced design and packaging, to promote the comprehensive development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry and move Vietnam faster on the journey "from aspiration to action."
Amidst the wave of competition and global supply chain shifts, Vietnam has proactively innovated, linked and cooperated internationally to create breakthroughs. SEMIExpo Vietnam 2025 is a vivid symbol of that spirit./.
