BHG - On December 6, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1723/QD-UBND approving the Project on eco -tourism , resort and entertainment in Tay Con Linh Nature Reserve (BTTT), period 2024 - 2030. This is the legal basis to help open the door to developing new types of tourism in the province in general and the western mountainous region in particular.
Tay Con Linh Nature Reserve was established in 2002, located in 11 communes of Hoang Su Phi, Vi Xuyen districts and Ha Giang city. The total natural area is 15,012 hectares; of which, the strictly protected area is 6,414.55 hectares, the ecological restoration area is 8,357.45 hectares, the administrative service area is 240 hectares. This is home to many ethnic groups such as Mong, Dao, Tay, Co Lao... An ideal discovery spot for tourists who love nature with its overlapping mountain ranges and primeval forests like in fairy tales. This place has a rich ecosystem with many rare species of animals and plants, which are important in terms of biology and conservation; including 216 species of wild animals and thousands of species of invertebrates, insects, mollusks and 7 plant phyla, 194 families of higher plants and 1,153 plant species.

According to the Tay Con Linh Special-Use Forest Management Board, the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project in the Tay Con Linh Nature Reserve, period 2024 - 2030 aims to continue to effectively protect forests and natural resources in the Tay Con Linh Special-Use Forest area; exploit the available potential of biodiversity, natural resources, and landscapes to develop tourism to generate revenue for the state budget and contribute to realizing the process of financial autonomy of the Tay Con Linh Special-Use Forest Management Board; create jobs, increase income, improve the material and spiritual life of local people, and contribute to stabilizing security and social order.
The project identifies 10 points and 4 tourist routes with potential to develop eco-tourism, resorts and entertainment in Tay Con Linh Nature Reserve. Specifically, the tourist destinations include: Truc Hoa Forest, Tong Quan Su, Peach Blossom Valley, Mao Phin, Tung San, Botanical Garden, Tay Con Linh Peak, Lung Vai, Cu Sau Stream, Dan Khao; 4 tourist routes include: Route from Mao Phin village, Phuong Tien commune (Vi Xuyen) - Tay Con Linh Peak - Chung Phung village, Tung San commune (Hoang Su Phi); route from Lung Tao village, Cao Bo commune (Vi Xuyen) - Tay Con Linh Peak - Chung Phung village, Tung San commune (Hoang Su Phi); route from Lung Vai village, Phuong Do commune to the ancient tea forest, Phuong Do commune ( Ha Giang city); route from Dan Khao village, Cao Bo commune to Thuong Son Peak, Thuong Son commune (Vi Xuyen). The tourist routes are linked to tourist attractions to form short-term or long-term tours depending on the preferences of tourists. In addition, the routes can also be combined with other tours inside and outside the province when tourists want to explore natural values and indigenous ethnic identities. The total investment capital according to the project's phases is expected to mainly come from the form of leasing forest environment, cooperation and association to develop eco-tourism from organizations, businesses and individuals, about over 900 billion VND.

To effectively implement the policy of developing ecotourism, resorts and entertainment in Tay Con Linh Nature Reserve, the Project has specifically identified 15 groups of solutions, focusing on issues such as: Environmental protection, forest development, nature conservation and biodiversity; building mechanisms, policies and management work; raising awareness and developing tourism human resources; developing tourism infrastructure and technical facilities; developing types, products, investing, linking, promoting and developing tourism markets; developing communities and preserving and promoting cultural values; ensuring security and safety in organizing tourism activities; mobilizing capital and investment resources; methods of organizing ecotourism, resorts and entertainment activities; effectively implementing regulations on leasing forest environments...
The trend of developing sustainable tourism and ecotourism has become the goal and responsibility of the tourism industry in Vietnam and many countries around the world. The Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, identified tourism development as one of the three strategic breakthroughs; The Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 11 on tourism development in Ha Giang for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 with a clear viewpoint and goal of "developing green, sustainable, and unique tourism; preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities, preserving natural landscapes, protecting the environment; focusing on mobilizing resources for tourism development; diversifying tourism products...". It is hoped that the Project on developing eco-tourism, resorts and entertainment in Tay Con Linh Nature Reserve will be gradually realized, becoming a new tourism model, promoting tourism development according to the direction determined by the Provincial Party Committee.
