
Prolonged heavy rain has seriously affected people's lives, many residential areas are isolated, traffic is paralyzed, hundreds of households have to be evacuated to safety.
Faced with that situation, volunteer units and organizations simultaneously joined in, urgently deploying support and emergency relief work for people in flooded areas.
On October 29 and 30, Red Cross forces and volunteers from clubs, teams, and charity groups spread out to many places, deploying emergency support, helping people in deeply flooded areas overcome difficulties.
For example, on October 29, the "Remembering Tien Phuoc" club (under the Red Cross Society of Da Nang city) mobilized benefactors to support essential necessities for people in village 8, Tien Lanh commune (old) with a total value of more than 16 million VND.
On the same day, the volunteer group of Duy Hoa commune (old) mobilized members and volunteers to organize 250 Quang noodles and 500 lunch boxes to send to people in My Hoa village, Thu Bon commune and Phu Da village area.
In Thu Bon commune, Duy Hoa Red Cross Kitchen prepared and gave 1,257 hot meals to people in flooded areas. In addition, the kitchen also supported 7 special meals for people in Quang Ngai province who were taking shelter from the flood at the La Thap Tay village Cultural House.
In Thu Bon Dong commune, Tam Truong Volunteer Group coordinated to support 300 porridge portions and 10kg of candles to light up the people during power outages; Dien Ban Volunteer Group gave 300 meals to people in Vinh Dien town (old).
In parallel with direct relief activities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city issued a notice to receive funds and relief goods for people affected by storm No. 12. The relief mobilization committee coordinated with the Military Command and the City Red Cross to organize a goods receiving point at 470 Le Van Hien, Ngu Hanh Son ward.
As an active unit in mobilizing and supporting people in flooded areas, on October 29 and 30, the City's Association of Women Entrepreneurs called for and purchased relief goods with a total cost of 150 million VND, brought to the reception point of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for timely distribution to the people.

Ms. Huynh Thi Cuc, Head of Social Work Department, City Women Entrepreneurs Association said that the unit supports instant noodles, milk, cakes, and water; packaged and divided into portions so that people can use them immediately in the most difficult times.
Goods are transported by authorities to severely affected localities and medical facilities, ensuring that people and patients have timely food and drinks in times of emergency.
“After the flood recedes, depending on the actual situation, we will continue to mobilize and support some items such as blankets, mosquito nets and means of livelihood to help people stabilize their lives soon,” Ms. Cuc added.

According to the City Red Cross, on October 29 and 30, the Campaign Committee received more than 700 boxes of instant noodles, 4,870 loaves of bread, 100 warm blankets, 272 boxes of drinking water, 66 boxes of milk, and many other necessities.
All goods were classified and quickly transported to flooded areas and hospitals in Dien Ban and Duy Xuyen areas, ensuring that people and patients do not lack food or drinking water during difficult times.
The trips, gifts, and hot meals were delivered to people in flooded areas in an urgent manner, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the city's people, along with the joint efforts of all levels and sectors in the effort to help people overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives. In Tam Ky, Ban Thach, and Huong Tra wards, many areas were deeply flooded and isolated, causing people to lack food and drinking water. In this situation, functional forces and organizations and volunteer groups urgently supported people in flooded areas.

In Xuan Quy group (Ban Thach ward), the water rose 3-5m, leaving dozens of households isolated for many days. Local authorities coordinated with local businesses to supply food and drinking water to each household. Other areas such as My Cang and Doan Trai were also provided timely support, ensuring that no household went hungry.

Along with the authorities, many volunteer groups such as SOS Quang Nam, SOS Da Nang, Charity Association, Da Nang Women Entrepreneurs Club, etc. are on duty day and night, updating relief information, connecting vehicles and necessities to deep flooded areas.

On the afternoon of October 29, the functional forces of Thang Dien commune used specialized vehicles, boats, and canoes to gather and transport necessities to support flooded households in An Thai village.

Heavy rains over the past few days have caused 320 households in Thang Dien commune to be deeply flooded, one house had its roof blown off, and many traffic routes were cut off, including An Thai village. Some areas still have no electricity.

Thang Dien commune's functional forces transported necessities, including instant noodles and drinking water, to directly support poor households with small children and households with the elderly.
It is known that this area has been flooded for many days, the electricity system has been completely cut off, making it difficult for people to live. (GIANG BIEN)

In the mountainous area west of Da Nang city, the forces of Military Region 5, in addition to supporting the evacuation of people and property, wading in the rain to overcome landslides, clearing rubble, rescuing victims, also take care of every meal and sleep for the people.

* On October 30, the Defense Command of Region 3 - Tra My organized a "Meal of Love" to give to patients being treated at the Bac Tra My Regional Medical Center. Here, the unit coordinated with the Trung Thi Women's Association (Tra My commune) to mobilize sponsors, select food distributors, organize processing, and cook 150 nutritious meals.
This afternoon (October 30), the Defense Command of Region 3 - Tra My also organized the cooking of more than 200 kg of banh chung to give to households in isolated areas and the poor.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of the Defense Command of Region 3 - Tra My, said that providing free meals to people is a policy of the Military Region 5 Command to share difficulties, help people and patients reduce hardships, and ensure safety during rainy and flood days.
Participating in the activity, Ms. Nguyen Thi But, Head of the Trung Thi Women's Association, shared: "This activity has a profound meaning, demonstrating the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers".
