
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan inspected flood and storm recovery work in Po To commune.
Assessing that storm No. 13 would cause heavy rain and flash floods in the area, upon receiving information that upstream water was rapidly flowing, the provincial working group in An Khe ward, headed by Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, promptly directed the locality to evacuate 5 households with 12 people along Po Yau stream to a safe place; at the same time, requested An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Plant to close to reduce water flow. Along with that, the Po To commune government proactively grasped the situation and promptly deployed response measures, rescue and support people; ensuring the safety of people's lives and property during the rainy and flood season.

Inspecting the separation point at Dak Po To bridge (Km378+130, Truong Son Dong road), in village 4, Po To commune, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan highly appreciated the initiative and sense of responsibility of the Party Committee, government and armed forces of Po To commune in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. At the same time, he requested the locality to urgently deploy a plan to build a temporary bridge, which must be completed by the morning of November 9 (Sunday) at the latest to ensure people's traffic and have a plan to solidify the bridge, ensuring long-term traffic safety.
Recognizing the efforts of local authorities and functional forces in responding to the storm, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan awarded 100 million VND to Po To commune and 20 million VND to the security team in the area.

Previously, due to the impact of storm Kalmaegi, in the early morning of November 7, floodwaters from upstream poured down, causing about 15m of the approach road and bridge pier of Dak Po To bridge to collapse. Although the incident did not cause any human casualties, it caused traffic disruption in this area, greatly affecting the travel and transportation of goods of local people.
Immediately after receiving the news, the People's Committee of Po To commune mobilized local forces to coordinate with Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police) to block both ends of the bridge, put up warning signs and instruct people not to move into the dangerous area.
