Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway flooded again, traffic paralyzed for hours

As of 9:15 p.m. on November 7, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway was still temporarily closed from Ma Lam intersection (Km208) to the intersection with Phan Thiet intersection (Km234) due to flooding on the road surface.

Prolonged heavy rain causes Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway to be flooded again

Earlier, at around 5:30 p.m. the same day, heavy rain caused more than half of the road surface to be flooded on Km215+550 and Km233+500 on this highway. The flooded area was on the North-South section of the road. The flooded road surface forced vehicles to move slowly, not ensuring traffic safety.

The route management unit has installed warning signs and started to clear the water on the road surface. Workers are urgently clearing the sand and dirt from the roadside drainage ditch to clear the flow and push the stagnant water off the road surface.

However, due to prolonged heavy rain, at about 8:00 p.m. the same day, the flooding became more severe, covering the road in both directions. The Traffic Police of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) organized a road closure (North-South direction) at Ma Lam intersection and regulated traffic to National Highway 28 and National Highway 1.

Previously, Km215 and Km233 of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet highway were flooded many times during heavy rain.
