Urgently repair and soon put Tam Hai ferry back into operation to meet people's travel needs

On the afternoon of November 12, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung surveyed, inspected and worked with the local government of Tam Hai commune, Nui Thanh district to resolve a number of urgent recommendations on this island commune.

Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and the delegation inspected public investment projects in the area, the situation of estuary erosion, and domestic water in the locality; especially the difficulty of Tam Hai ferry stopping operation, affecting the lives and activities of the people in recent days.

Reporting to the working group, the leader of Tam Hai Commune People's Committee informed that Tam Hai ferry was damaged and stopped operating since November 8. In recent days, people have had to use boats and ships under 15CV to transport students and people back and forth. This poses a potential safety risk. During the ferry repair process, the local government asked the Border Guard force to support and monitor vehicles transporting people back and forth during rush hour.

The local government is urgently repairing the ferry, and it is expected that by November 18, the problem will be fixed and the ferry will be put back into operation to serve the travel and freight needs of the people and construction projects in the area.

In the long term, the locality has submitted a dossier to build two new ferries with a total cost of about 25 billion and is waiting for the Department of Registration to evaluate and approve the construction of new vehicles. Local leaders also reported difficulties related to compensation and clearance for the embankment project; clean water for the people, cemetery land fund, wharves and infrastructure for tourism development in the locality; some difficulties in the exploitation and fishing of aquatic products by the people.

Inspecting the Tam Hai ferry terminal, the anti-erosion embankment project and some areas in the commune, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet shared the difficulties of the government and people of Tam Hai island commune. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested the locality to focus on urgently repairing the ferry route and soon put the ferry back into operation to meet the needs of the people. The locality's recommendations were also noted by the Provincial Party Committee Secretary and he directed the locality to promptly resolve difficulties to promote socio -economic development on this island commune.
