Unique tourism potential

Recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park since 2017, possesses unique values, completely different from Ha Long Bay. Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh Nguyen Viet Dung commented: "Bai Tu Long Bay has a landscape suitable for developing diverse types of tourism all year round, especially eco-tourism. This place has a system of islands with a community of residents, bringing unique cultural experiences to visitors".

Many professional travel agencies also highly appreciate the potential of Bai Tu Long Bay, which is suitable for high-end customers who like to explore unique and new experiences. Cave exploration services and pristine beaches will be the highlight to attract tourists. On March 29, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province officially launched 5 tours to Bai Tu Long Bay and 2 tours connecting to Ha Long Bay with attractive destinations such as Ban Sen Island, Nha Tro Cave, Cong Lao Vong fishing village, Cai Lim beach... From April 30, daily cruise ship services will be operated at Ao Tien International Port, along with culinary experience packages and overnight stays on the bay.

Previously, to ensure the conditions for exploiting tourism itineraries on Bai Tu Long Bay, the Department of Construction of Quang Ninh province actively reviewed and supplemented necessary conditions to ensure the safety of inland waterway routes in Bai Tu Long Bay; arranged overnight anchorage points, supplemented plans to develop the port system and anchorage points in the bay area. At the same time, supplemented types of tourism vehicles suitable for connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay to the plan for developing the fleet on the bay.

Right after the opening ceremony of Bai Tu Long Bay itineraries, at Ao Tien International Port (Van Don District), there will be tourist boats serving visitors to Bai Tu Long Bay every day. On the occasion of the April 30 - May 1 holiday, new tourist boats and dinner services on board will be added. In 2025, departments, branches and units will complete overnight anchorage points to develop overnight boat products on the bay.

Sustainable exploitation of unique and distinctive values

Along with the exploitation of tourism itineraries, a large-scale conference was also organized by the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to listen to opinions from departments, branches, experts, and the travel business community on the development of Bai Tu Long Bay tourism in 2025. Proposals to focus on completing infrastructure, building accommodation facilities, and developing eco-tourism products associated with environmental protection; promoting industry linkages and applying technology in promotion, towards green tourism, focusing on customer experience... were mentioned by many delegates.

Sharing at the conference, the leader of Quang Ninh province said that the province is committed to working closely with tourism businesses to develop Bai Tu Long Bay tourism, creating an attractive, unique and sustainable tourist destination, contributing to enhancing the value of the locality's precious natural heritage. In return, the province hopes to continue receiving the attention, support and coordination of managers, as well as the trust of investors and the tourism business community in promoting the development of Bai Tu Long Bay tourism into a destination not to be missed in the tourist itinerary.

With its large sea space, Bai Tu Long Bay is a precious gift that nature has bestowed upon Quang Ninh province. This is also the foundation and driving force for the tourism industry to elevate its brand and increase the competitiveness of the destination; it is a problem for managers to promote the potential values ​​of Bai Tu Long Bay sustainably in the future. According to Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh, Van Don district is one of the four key tourist centers of Quang Ninh, owning an important part of Bai Tu Long Bay. Over the past 10 years, Van Don district has built modern infrastructure with an international airport, international port, service areas, new urban areas, etc. to meet the needs of tourists.

This is an important premise for Quang Ninh province to launch special sightseeing and tourism routes on Bai Tu Long Bay after more than 2 years of active preparation - one of the important steps in the roadmap to achieve the goal of welcoming 20 million tourists by 2025, associated with increasing tourism products, extending the length of stay, increasing tourists' spending; contributing to promoting Quang Ninh's economic development, improving the quality of people's lives and affirming Quang Ninh as a leading tourist destination in Vietnam.

The launch of the sightseeing and tourism route on Bai Tu Long Bay will also help to maximize the value of tourism resources, continue to build unique and classy tourism products in accordance with the sustainable tourism development strategy, linking exploitation with protection and promotion of the value of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. At the same time, build tourism itineraries connecting heritage, creating new and attractive experiences for tourists, contributing to promoting the development of the tourism industry in localities in the province, such as: Cam Pha city, Van Don district, Co To district and other areas.
