DNO - On the afternoon of July 1, the pedestrian bridge across Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in front of Xuan Thieu Tourist Area (Mikazuki Hotel, Lien Chieu District), a symbol of Vietnam - Japan friendship, was inaugurated, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

Ms. Le Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, Vice President of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; Mr. Yamada Takio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam; Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori, Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang ; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the pedestrian bridge.

The pedestrian bridge across Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in front of Mikazuki Hotel is nearly 13m high, more than 140m long, with a floor area of ​​about 655m2 .

The approach to the bridge is arranged on both sides of the observation deck simulating the image of a knot in Japanese rope weaving art, demonstrating the strength of the friendly relationship between the two countries.

The shape of the bridge is inspired by ocean waves, creating a gentle, relaxing feeling, connecting with the landscape of the area.

Outside the two observation decks, there are also steel spiral staircases with elevators installed so that people with disabilities can easily access the bridge.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Odaka Yoshimune, Chairman of Mikazuki Group, emphasized that this pedestrian bridge is a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Japan. The inauguration ceremony of this pedestrian bridge is an event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and the 1st anniversary of the opening of Mikazuki Hotel (in the past year, the hotel has welcomed more than 490,000 guests for relaxation, entertainment and use of event, conference and wedding services).

“This pedestrian bridge is not only for Da Nang people to cross the road safely. At the same time, the bridge has a beautiful view and scenery and this will also be a place to meet, exchange and strengthen the friendship between the people of the two countries.

We are very happy to present Da Nang city with a “friendship bridge” between Vietnam and Japan. We will continue to accompany and always aim to foster friendship between the two countries in the next 50 years.

We will also continue to develop and strive to contribute to making Da Nang a tourist destination that can compete with famous destinations and resorts in the world ,” emphasized Mr. Odaka Yoshimune.
