Promoting the leading position of Vietnam's cashew industry
ofi is operating 5 cashew processing factories in Vietnam, of which the factory in Gia Lai has just been honored in the Top 20 Outstanding FDI Enterprises in Vietnam 2025, marking a model of close cooperation between enterprises - farmers - local authorities.
2025 also marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Gia Lai Cashew Factory, breathing new life into the lives of local people and becoming the driving force to bring Vietnamese cashew nuts to the world , consolidating the leading position of the Vietnamese cashew industry.

The success of the factory is a clear demonstration of its international standard production and management capacity, and demonstrates ofi’s pioneering role in training and employing local human resources to strengthen the global leadership position of the Vietnamese cashew industry, thereby promoting the growth of the Vietnamese economy.
In operation since 2005 in Tra Da Industrial Park, Pleiku Ward, Gia Lai Province, the factory is currently an important link in ofi's global value chain, specializing in the production of organic and conventional cashews that meet BRC, FSMA, HALAL and KOSHER standards.
According to Mr. Gokul Mahesh, Plant Director, “The plant has consistently maintained a steady double-digit growth rate, demonstrating high operational efficiency and a strong commitment to meeting the increasingly diverse needs of the market, while also reflecting a flexible go-to-market strategy and strong partnerships with global customers.”
“Every cashew product leaving the factory in Gia Lai is strictly controlled in terms of quality and traceability. We always aim to not only meet but also exceed the expectations of the international market,” he emphasized.

Over the past two decades, the factory has devoted resources to developing new processing techniques to improve quality and production efficiency, including investing in modern machinery that enhances nutritional value and flavor, as well as ready-to-eat products.
In addition, the factory has applied modern technologies to optimize operations. Automation is the focus, with the implementation of automatic sorting and packaging systems to increase production speed. These technologies not only improve operational efficiency but also ensure stable product quality, which is a key factor in meeting customer expectations, helping the factory's products to be exported to many countries around the world.
Drivers of economic growth and community development
ofi Vietnam's export activities have been contributing to driving Vietnam's economic growth through its superior food ingredient production capacity and local human resource development.
Behind that success are the people, the working hands from the Central Highlands. According to Mr. Gokul Mahesh, the factory has created stable jobs for local people, of which more than 50% are ethnic minorities, helping them to have a better life with stable income, skills training and long-term career opportunities.

In particular, ofi chooses to directly purchase raw materials from local farmers, contributing to strengthening the agricultural economy and creating a stable consumption market, promoting sustainable farming for Vietnam's agricultural sector in the global food supply chain.
The factory’s operations also generate tax revenue and stimulate trade, contributing to regional economic growth. Through these combined efforts, ofi’s cashew factory in Gia Lai not only supports Vietnam’s leading position in the global cashew industry but also ensures inclusive and sustainable development at the local level.
Another highlight is the factory in Gia Lai, together with ofi Vietnam, pursuing the global sustainable development strategy “Choices for Change”, cooperating with the government, farmers, social organizations and customers to realize common sustainable development goals.

Ofi's cashew factory in Gia Lai - Top Excellent FDI Enterprises in Vietnam 2025
Gia Lai Cashew Factory, along with two other factories in Dong Nai and Dak Lak of ofi (olam food ingredients) Vietnam, have just been honored in the Top 20 Outstanding FDI Enterprises in Vietnam 2025. The award has recognized the persistent efforts of ofi Vietnam in its 28-year journey of producing high-quality products for global food manufacturing and retail corporations. These three factories are currently providing internationally certified cashew nuts to more than 140 customers worldwide.
The award is organized annually by the Institute of Economics and Culture in collaboration with the Vietnam Consumer Protection Center, to honor FDI enterprises with outstanding contributions to technological innovation, sustainable development and job creation for Vietnamese workers.
