Reporters of Gia Lai Newspaper, Radio and Television had an interview with Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kha - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, about solutions aimed at arousing pride, raising awareness of using domestic products among consumers, creating motivation to promote production, business and sustainable economic growth.

* The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 91/KH-UBND to implement programs to develop the domestic market, stimulate consumption and promote the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in the period of 2025-2027 in the province. Can you tell us the main points of this plan?

- The focus of the plan is to create a clear shift in consumer habits, guiding people to prioritize choosing and using high-quality Vietnamese goods; at the same time, supporting businesses in the province to improve production capacity, expand markets and develop modern, sustainable trade.

In 2025, the province strives to increase total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue by 10.5 to 11%, ensuring the supply of essential goods, avoiding shortages and unreasonable price increases, especially during the Lunar New Year. The plan aims to attract at least 500,000 consumers to access communication campaigns and support about 500 businesses to participate in trade promotion and promotional activities.

In the 2026-2027 period, the province aims to develop a modern commercial infrastructure system rich in local identity, forming new retail models, applying digital transformation such as "smart markets", "online Vietnamese stalls", digital logistics... Thereby, gradually turning the province's retail market into a leading trade-service center in the Central Highlands and South Central regions.

* What groups of solutions will the Department of Industry and Trade focus on implementing to achieve the above goals, sir?

- First of all, we focus on trade promotion and consumer demand stimulation. In 2025, the Department will organize a series of events in response to the campaign "Vietnamese people use Vietnamese products" to spread the spirit of pride in Vietnamese goods, affirming the quality of domestic products. Along with that, the Department will organize specific activities such as "Vietnam Shopping Festival", national concentrated promotion programs, Vietnamese goods fairs in rural and mountainous areas, creating conditions for local products to get closer to consumers.

The Department will also coordinate with relevant sectors to support manufacturing and distribution enterprises to access preferential capital sources, tax and credit policies, especially for small and medium enterprises. We encourage the expansion of retail chains to remote, isolated and border areas; and reserve display areas for OCOP products, the province's key products.

Another important task is to ensure a stable supply and restructure towards a green and sustainable direction. The province will focus on developing the production of essential goods locally such as coffee, pepper, rubber, sugarcane, vegetables, etc., while at the same time forming a flexible logistics network, stockpiling goods during Tet and the rainy season, contributing to price stabilization.

In addition, the work of connecting supply and demand and protecting consumers has been strengthened. We coordinate to organize programs connecting manufacturers, distributors with consumers in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas. In particular, the Department directs the Market Management force to closely inspect and monitor the market, resolutely handle counterfeit and poor quality goods, and protect the legitimate rights of consumers and legitimate businesses.

* The province's orientation in the period 2026-2027 is to develop a modern market associated with digital transformation and local identity. Could you share more about the specific steps in the coming time?

- The period of 2026-2027 is an important time for the province to make a breakthrough in developing the market in a modern and sustainable direction. First of all, the province will perfect the institutions, creating an equal competitive environment for enterprises. The Department of Industry and Trade advises the Provincial People's Committee to review and propose additional regulations on the management of markets, supermarkets, trade centers, logistics, and e-commerce to promote the circulation of goods, support the consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products.

We focus on developing modern commercial infrastructure, combining e-commerce, traditional markets, supermarkets and logistics. The province will renovate and upgrade agricultural wholesale markets, build models of "smart markets", "highland mini supermarkets" and local e-commerce platforms, thereby expanding the distribution channel of Vietnamese goods to all classes of people.

The province considers digital transformation as a key driving force. We encourage businesses to apply technology in retail management, traceability using QR codes, cashless payments, warehouse management and customer data. The Department will also coordinate to organize seminars and events connecting technology businesses with agricultural , processing and tourism businesses to jointly build appropriate digital solutions.

* Thank you!
