On the Can Tho - Hau Giang section, a rest stop was invested in with an area of ​​10 hectares in Tan Long hamlet, Vinh Tuong commune, Vi Thuy district (Hau Giang province), with a total investment of more than 529 billion VND.


On March 19, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Hau Giang province, said that in March 2025, the site clearance for the rest stop of the Can Tho - Hau Giang component project on the North - South Eastern Expressway, phase 2021-2025, Can Tho - Ca Mau section, will be completed.

It is expected that in March 2025, Hau Giang province will complete site clearance for the North-South expressway rest stop in the East section of Can Tho-Ca Mau.

"The project covers an area of ​​more than 10 hectares with 26 households affected. Up to now, we have provided compensation and support to more than 20 households.

The 2024 Land Law has some changes in the procedures for site clearance for projects. Therefore, the locality has encountered some difficulties during the implementation process. However, we strive to complete site clearance and hand over to the project by March 2025," the Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Hau Giang province added.

The North-South Eastern Expressway, phase 2021-2025, Can Tho - Ca Mau section (Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway) has a total length of more than 110km, with a total investment of more than VND 27,500 billion. The project is divided into two component projects: Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau. My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) is the investor.

Up to now, the construction output of the Can Tho - Hau Giang section has reached about 67% of the plan; the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section has reached about 57% of the plan.

At the Can Tho - Hau Giang section, a rest stop was invested in (in Tan Long hamlet, Vinh Tuong commune, Vi Thuy district, Hau Giang province), with a total recovered land area of ​​over 103,898 m2. Of which, 26 households and individuals were affected.

According to the investment policy decision, the above-mentioned rest stop has a total investment of more than 529 billion VND. Of which, the project implementation cost is more than 497 billion VND, compensation and resettlement costs are more than 31.7 billion VND.

The planned investment scale includes parking lots, rest areas, temporary rest rooms for drivers, places to provide information, organize and launch propaganda on traffic safety, and places for rescue workers and first aid for traffic accidents.

In addition, there are also commercial facilities such as food service areas, product display and sales areas; fuel stations; electric vehicle charging stations; vehicle maintenance and repair workshops...

Currently, My Thuan Project Management Board is carrying out bidding procedures according to regulations, and is expected to issue bidding documents in the first quarter of 2025.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh has just sent a telegram to the People's Committees of 12 provinces, including Hau Giang province, requesting to speed up the completion of site clearance and implementation of investment projects for rest stops on the Eastern North-South Expressway.

The Minister of Construction assessed that the progress of the rest stop projects has not met requirements, mainly due to the fact that the site clearance work has not met the contract schedule, affecting the completion schedule as required by the Prime Minister.

From there, the Minister of Construction requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province to support and direct agencies and units to speed up the procedures for handing over the site in April 2025 for 11 rest stops that are completing procedures for selecting investors so that construction can begin immediately after signing the contract.
