Warehouse 706 was established on the basis of inheriting the tradition of the Army's pharmaceutical warehouse industry in the South during the national liberation resistance war and taking over from the puppet government's field warehouse system after the country's reunification.

After 50 years of construction and development, Warehouse 706 has continuously grown and developed in all aspects, performing well the strategic storage task, serving the mission of combat training and combat readiness; organizing the reception, preservation, and distribution of medicine, chemicals, bandages, machines, equipment, medical instruments... for units; repairing machines and medical equipment for hospitals and clinics, especially units in remote areas, border areas, islands and other sudden tasks.

Warehouse 706 received the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Do Van Thien acknowledged and commended the achievements of officers, staff and soldiers of Warehouse 706 in the past time; at the same time, he requested Warehouse 706 to regularly thoroughly grasp, creatively and effectively apply the resolutions and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , the Party Committee and the command of the General Department of Logistics and Technology; encourage officers and staff to actively study, improve their professional qualifications, promote scientific research, initiatives, and technical innovations applied in performing tasks; continue to do well in studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh.

Along with that, focus on improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees and organizations, upholding the vanguard and exemplary spirit of cadres and Party members; proactively and closely coordinating and implementing well the project of investing in basic construction of barracks, ensuring quality and progress. Pay attention to improving the material and spiritual life of cadres, employees and soldiers, and well implementing the Army's rear policy. Closely coordinate with Party committees, authorities, local people as well as agencies and units in the stationed area to build a safe area.
