According to The Times , up to this point in the 2025/26 season, Premier League representatives earned 385 million euros in prize money from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), based on performance in the first rounds of the Champions League (UCL), Europa League (UEL) and Conference League (UECL) classification stages.
This is eight times more than the 10th-placed league in the list, Türkiye, where teams in the Süper Lig only collected 54 million euros. The top 10 in terms of prize money according to UEFA shows the dominance of the major leagues from England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France.
La Liga ranked second with 278 million euros, while the Bundesliga collected 260 million, Serie A earned 235 million and Ligue 1 had 202 million.
In the Champions League, all five English teams have earned a total of over €63 million in prize money each, so far in the 2025/26 season. Manchester City leads the way with €69.2 million in prize money, followed by Liverpool (€65.6 million), Arsenal (€63.2 million), Chelsea (€63.1 million), Tottenham Hotspur (€53.4 million), and Newcastle United (€38.5 million).
With all five teams performing well in the Champions League so far, English football could set a record for prize money in Europe this season. This is a clear demonstration of English football's "king" position in UEFA's money distribution system.
