The above information was shared by Dr. Do Manh Cuong, Chairman of the Board of Gia Dinh University, at a conference last weekend, revolving around the topic of life awareness and human dignity among students of private universities in Vietnam.

A survey conducted by Mr. Cuong on hundreds of students showed that people who have a clear awareness of their own dignity tend to have positive evaluations of others and build living habits consistent with humanistic values.

However, about 41% of students still lack a correct perception not only of themselves but also of the dignity of others. In addition, up to 25% have not reached the level of awareness necessary to develop the habit of living in respect for human values.

“The sense of self-worth is closely related to the way we perceive the worth of others. This lack of awareness shows a lack ofeducation in life values for students,” Dr. Cuong emphasized.

He suggested integrating dignity education as a cross-cutting theme in learning and living activities; at the same time, organizing sharing sessions, workshops or skills training so that students understand and appreciate their own values.

He also called on schools to strengthen humanistic education, emphasizing the connection between self-esteem and respect for others. Mentoring programs are also encouraged to support students in building a healthy personal identity.
