On the morning of June 10, Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, Tay Bac Group and AEON Vietnam jointly held the groundbreaking ceremony of Tien Giang Provincial Trade and Service Center Project (located in Hung Vuong Square, Tien Giang Province) and awarded the investment registration certificate to AEON Vietnam.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Tran The Ngoc, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee; Chau Thi My Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Ngoc Tram, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee; Tran Van Dung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thanh Dieu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee; together with former leaders of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, representatives of departments, branches and sectors of Tien Giang province, leaders of My Tho City, leaders of Tay Bac Group and AEON Vietnam.

The Tien Giang Provincial Trade and Service Center Project (in Hung Vuong Square, Tien Giang Province) is located in Dao Thanh Commune, My Tho City, with a scale of over 3 hectares, including residential land and commercial land. The project was approved for investment in principle for the first time by the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province in April 2024 and adjusted in principle in September 2024. In December 2024, Tay Bac Group was recognized as the winner of the auction of land use rights to implement the project. On May 26, 2025, Tay Bac Group transferred a part of the project on commercial land to AEON Vietnam to build a commercial center. The transferred part has an area of about 2 hectares, with a total estimated investment capital of VND 1,155 billion.
It is expected that AEON Vietnam will deploy this commercial area from August 2025 and put it into operation from the fourth quarter of 2026.

For the remaining area of the project, Tay Bac Group plans to build a Japanese-style commercial area with 73 commercial townhouses and a central park to create a fresh space for people to enjoy, while contributing to the synchronization of the landscape of Hung Vuong Square area in Tien Giang province.
At the ceremony on the morning of June 10, Tay Bac Group officially started construction of technical infrastructure and commercial townhouses of the Tien Giang Provincial Trade and Service Center Project (at Hung Vuong Square, Tien Giang Province). At the same time, Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee also granted the investment registration certificate for the Trade Center Project to AEON Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Vinh emphasized that the Tien Giang Provincial Trade and Service Center Project has a very special location, located next to the Hung Vuong Square campus, in the Northeast of My Tho City, very close to the Provincial Administrative Center, and is the largest commercial project in the province to date. The Trade and Service Center Project, along with the An Hoa Residential Area Project, the Cultural - Artistic Center and Fair - Exhibition Center under construction and the Road Project, residential areas on both sides of the extended Hung Vuong Road under implementation, the Dynamic Road Project of Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang (National Highway 50B) will gradually complete the planning content of the Square and the surrounding area, creating a highlight and development conditions for My Tho City - a class I urban area under the province.

The project started today is the concretization of the goal of developing trade and services in the Planning of Tien Giang Province and My Tho City for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, demonstrating the high determination of the provincial leaders, the efforts of the sectors and levels in the province and the consensus and support of the local people in the effort to attract and invite investment businesses to learn about the project and production and business activities in the province. The completed project will contribute to changing the appearance of My Tho urban area; promoting the economic , trade and service development of the province; bringing high-class shopping facilities, modern accommodation, meeting the increasing needs of the people.
According to the Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, today's groundbreaking ceremony is just the beginning, the upcoming workload is still very large. In order for the project to be completed on schedule, safely, and with quality assurance. The Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee requested Tay Bac Investment Group Joint Stock Company, AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. and construction units to focus maximum financial resources, mobilize human resources, equipment, and the best machinery to implement the construction, ensure the quality, aesthetics of the project, committed progress and comply with the provisions of law, absolute labor safety, environmental sanitation; not to let the construction process affect the lives, production, and activities of people in the project area.
AEON Vietnam Co., Ltd. and the operating unit focus on completing items to soon put the project into operation and exploitation; linking to build and consume the province's products, especially agricultural products, fruits, seafood, OCOP products that meet the distributor's criteria and support the development of local human resources.

The Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Construction, the Department of Finance, the People's Committee of My Tho City and other departments, branches and localities to continue to complete relevant procedures during the project implementation process, ensuring compliance with regulations. At the same time, he requested the Party Committee, authorities, organizations and local people in the project area to accompany and coordinate well with the investor and contractor to resolve or propose timely solutions to difficulties and problems during the project implementation process with the highest responsibility; ensure good security, order and social safety, create all conditions for the investor to implement the project in the most favorable way, on schedule, complete and put the project into operation soon.
