- In the 2025-2026 school year, with the theme "Keeping the Dream", the program of giving standard helmets to first graders nationwide, including Lang Son, continues to be widely implemented. This is a practical activity implemented by the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) in coordination with Honda Vietnam Company to raise awareness of traffic safety law compliance from a young age.

Representatives of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee Office presented standard helmets to first grade students of Hoang Dong Primary School, Tam Thanh Ward.
In Lang Son province, all 14,394 first graders from 308 primary schools in the province received this meaningful gift. The event not only provided safety equipment but also was an important first step in forming traffic culture for future generations.
The program comes from a deep awareness of the crucial role of wearing a standard helmet in protecting traffic participants. For first graders, this is the age when awareness and thinking are forming, so creating a habit for them to always wear a standard helmet when sitting behind a motorbike or electric vehicle is extremely necessary.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Chief of Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, commented: “Giving helmets to first graders is part of educating them about traffic law compliance. It is also the beginning of actions, habits, and traffic culture. Through this program, it will impact parents' awareness of protecting the lives and health of their children.”
To make this gift truly effective, this school year, relevant levels and sectors in Lang Son province have implemented many synchronous solutions, emphasizing coordination between authorities, schools and families.
Specifically, the provincial authorities have closely coordinated with localities and schools to promote propaganda and remind people to comply with regulations on wearing helmets for both themselves and their children.
Schools include helmet wearing in their competition criteria and require teachers in charge of classes to remind parents and students to strictly comply.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Huong, Principal of Chi Lang Primary School, Luong Van Tri Ward, said: Right from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, 100% of the school's students and parents (with 304 first graders receiving helmets) signed a commitment to ensure traffic safety. At the same time, the school spends time during the flag-raising ceremony every Monday to propagate, help students understand and strictly implement the regulation on wearing compulsory helmets. At the same time, it organizes specialized and extracurricular activities on traffic safety to raise awareness of compliance with the Law on Road Traffic Safety for students.

To form self-awareness, the role of family and school is extremely necessary. Parents must be exemplary and take the lead in implementation.
Ms. Nong Thi Hang, Binh Cam block, Dong Kinh ward shared: “ This year my family has a child entering first grade. Every time I get on a motorbike to take my child to school, I proactively remind him to wear a helmet to ensure safe traffic participation. I and the adults in my family always strictly wear helmets when riding motorbikes and electric motorbikes to set an example for our children .”
According to information from the authorities, up to now, 100% of first grade students in the 2025-2026 school year in the whole province have received standard helmets donated by the National Traffic Safety Committee in coordination with Honda Vietnam Company.
In the coming time, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, member agencies and functional branches will continue to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work, dissemination of traffic safety law education, building traffic culture, especially for students who have just started school, thereby forming habits, carefulness and cultural behavior when participating in traffic.
