Provincial Road 823D contributes to expanding space for industrial, urban and logistics development.
Designed according to modern standards, the main road is 14m wide with 4 lanes, and two parallel lanes on both sides, each lane is 7m wide, the total roadbed ranges from 32-40m. Some items are flexibly adjusted according to reality, such as replacing Lang Ven bridge with box culverts, to ensure investment efficiency and shorten construction time. The total investment for the entire route is more than 1,105.9 billion VND, of which the central budget supports 1,000 billion VND, the rest from the provincial budget and other legal capital sources. The cost for compensation, support and resettlement alone is more than 3,745 billion VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Director of Long An Construction Investment Project Management Board, DT823D plays a particularly important role in connecting strategic traffic routes such as Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highway N2 and Ring Roads 2, 3, 4 of Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks to that, the connectivity between the Southeast, Southwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City will be significantly enhanced.
In particular, the route passes through many areas with potential for industrial and urban development but with weak infrastructure. When completed, DT823D will create a large, clean land fund, creating favorable conditions to attract domestic and foreign investors to the area, especially when the province is promoting investment attraction in industry and logistics in the 2025-2030 period.
The DT823D project started on December 28, 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2025. Currently, the units are deploying 9 construction sites along the entire route. According to the Project Management Board, the overall progress is achieving positive results.
Specifically, by the end of July 2025, the roadbed sand layer will be basically completed, the red gravel layer will be 14.0km, the crushed stone layer will be 13.5km Dmax 37.5 and 11km Dmax 25. C19 asphalt concrete will be 6.1km on the left side of the route and 8.13km on the right side of the route.
Auxiliary items such as curbs and median strips are 12.3/14km; drainage system is 100% completed with a total length of 12.24km. Paved sidewalks on the left side of the route are 5.9km and 5.1km on the right side of the route. Mobile median strips have been cast for 2,800/4,148 components. By the end of July 2025, the value of the implemented volume reached more than 570.1 billion VND, equivalent to 60.28% of the total construction investment value.
In parallel with the construction of the road surface, two packages for the construction of the lighting system are also being vigorously implemented. The section from Km0+000 to Km6+860 has been implemented since March 21, 2025. Currently, 6,300/7,000m of cable ditches have been dug, 150/200 lamp post foundations and 135/214 STK lamp posts have been installed, reaching 64.6% of the value (9.6/14.86 billion VND).
The section from Km6+860 to Km14+274 was constructed during the same period. Accordingly, 6,000/7,400m of cable trenches have been completed, 153/214 pillar foundations have been installed, but some sections are waiting for site handover for further implementation. The implementation value reached 1.8/13,459 billion VND, equivalent to 13.37%.
To ensure progress as planned, the Long An Construction Investment Project Management Board is focusing on urging contractors to speed up construction, and at the same time, requiring relevant units to urgently complete acceptance documents, make advance payments and adjust prices in accordance with contract regulations.
When completed, DT823D will shorten travel time from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to promoting trade, attracting investment, developing urban and industrial areas, making this area a dynamic growth pole in the near future./.
