Prosecution of suspect who broke into house to steal property worth more than 400 million VND

On August 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Ninh Giang District ( Hai Duong ) announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute defendant Nguyen Dac Huy (47 years old, residing in Van Tao village, Thanh An commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province) to investigate the act of property theft.

Previously, on August 6, Ms. Nguyen Thi H. (residing in Hiep Luc commune, Ninh Giang district) reported that her house was broken into and many pieces of jewelry worth more than 400 million VND were stolen. The theft occurred on July 16.

Receiving Ms. H's complaint, the leader of Ninh Giang District Police directed the Criminal Police Team to concentrate forces to investigate and urgently clarify the case.

The police brought Nguyen Dac Huy to the scene to reenact the process of property theft.

After screening the suspects, the police determined that Nguyen Dac Huy had many unusual and suspicious signs. The investigation agency also determined that Huy was an acquaintance of Ms. H's sister.

However, because Nguyen Dac Huy is a long-distance driver, traveling from place to place, the investigation takes a long time. Using many professional measures, the detectives determined that Huy was in Du Hang Kenh Ward (Le Chan District, Hai Phong City), so they summoned Huy to the headquarters for clarification.

At the investigation agency, Huy initially confessed to all of his acts of stealing property from Ms. H's family.

Ninh Giang District Police Investigation Agency is continuing to verify to recover property and return it to the victim, at the same time collect documents, evidence, and handle the case according to regulations.
