Prosecution of defendant who just got out of prison and continued to break into people's houses to steal

On June 3, Cam Le District Police decided to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused for property theft in Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District.

The Cam Le District Police Department also temporarily detained Vo Van Dong (27 years old, residing at 1B Lang Ca Apartment, Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City) for theft of property.

According to the investigation, Dong had a criminal record for theft, and had just been released from prison when he continued to think of stealing to earn money to spend.

At about 10:00 a.m. on May 31, Dong drove his motorbike from his house in Nai Hien Dong Ward (Son Tra District) to Cam Le District to look for vulnerable houses to steal from.

When arriving at a house on Ha Tong Quyen Street (Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District), Dong discovered that Mr. TVQ's house had the door locked from the inside but the gate was not locked, so Dong broke the door open. Dong broke into the house to search for property, stole a necklace and 4 earrings, and a piggy bank containing about 5 million VND.

Dong sold the gold for personal use. In addition to the above theft, Dong also confessed to breaking into many houses in new residential areas and deserted areas in Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts. Therefore, the district police continued to expand the investigation.

According to records, in 2022, Dong was sentenced to 9 months in prison by the People's Court of Son Tra District for theft of property. The reason was that in May 2022, Dong discovered that Ms. NTL (65 years old, living in apartment 1C Lang Ca, Nai Hien Dong Ward) was away, so he sneaked into Ms. L's apartment to steal 14 million VND and many other properties.
