Ca Mau Industrial Promotion aims to increase the rate of deep processing of agricultural products

The industrial promotion program for the 2026 - 2030 period of Ca Mau province aims to support at least 58 rural industrial establishments, increase the rate of deep processing of agricultural products to over 20%; reduce the consumption of raw materials and fuel by at least 15%; increase average revenue by over 20%; create jobs for more than 1,000 workers...

Important source of seed capital

Ca Mau Department of Industry and Trade said that in recent years, the industrial promotion program has helped many businesses and production facilities in the province invest in advanced machinery and equipment to expand their scale and improve production efficiency.

Before the merger, Bac Lieu province (old) implemented 4 local industrial promotion tasks in 2024 with a total allocated budget of 934 million VND. To date, 3/4 of the projects supporting the application of machinery and equipment and 4/4 of the approved tasks have been completed, with a total implementation budget of 854 million VND, while attracting an additional 566 million VND in investment capital from rural industrial establishments.

For the national industrial promotion program, Bac Lieu Department of Industry and Trade has registered to implement the project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in corrugated iron production", with one beneficiary unit, to encourage technological innovation, improve productivity and product quality.

For Ca Mau province (old), the local industrial promotion program in 2024 includes 5 tasks with 11 contents, with a total budget of more than 5.6 billion VND. Of which, the local industrial promotion capital accounts for more than 2.6 billion VND, the remaining 3.1 billion VND is counterpart capital of the beneficiary units.

However, the budget allocated for 2024 is only over 2.3 billion VND, 261 million VND lower than the plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee, and was cut by an additional 300 million VND, leaving the remaining budget for actual implementation at only 2 billion VND. However, the program still completed 10/11 tasks and projects, reaching 90.9% of the plan, with an implementation budget of 2 billion VND and attracting an additional 2 billion VND in investment capital from rural industrial establishments.

At the national industrial promotion level, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau registered to implement two group projects: "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in food production" (2 beneficiaries) and "Supporting the application of machinery and equipment in mechanical processing production" (3 beneficiaries). These projects were approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a total budget of 1.5 billion VND, contributing to promoting technological innovation and improving production capacity for rural enterprises.

It can be seen that although the funding source from the industrial promotion program is not large compared to the total investment of enterprises and rural industrial establishments, the program has been effective as an important "seed capital source", helping to encourage production establishments to boldly invest counterpart capital, innovate machinery, equipment and technology to improve production capacity and business efficiency.

The effective implementation of the industrial promotion policy has aroused and mobilized social resources, promoted investment in the industrial and handicraft sectors, created jobs, increased income, and improved the competitiveness of enterprises. Thereby, the program contributes to promoting the potential and advantages of the locality, accelerating the process of industrialization and modernization of rural areas and building sustainable new rural areas.

Promote technology application, cleaner production

The People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just issued the Industrial Promotion Program for the period 2026 - 2030, with the goal of mobilizing resources to develop industry and handicrafts in a modern and sustainable direction, associated with new rural construction and international integration.

According to the plan, the program will support at least 58 rural industrial establishments, increase the rate of deep processing of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to over 20%, and reduce the consumption of raw materials and fuel by at least 15%. The program also aims to create jobs for more than 1,000 workers, increase average revenue by over 20% and develop more than 90 typical rural industrial products, including 50 provincial products, 30 regional products and 10 national products.

The program's implementation is expected to accelerate the industrialization and modernization process, effectively exploit local potential and advantages, and enhance the competitiveness of rural industrial enterprises in the integration period.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau, in the coming time, the province will mobilize and effectively use all resources to develop agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industrial products, associated with the goal of green growth and sustainable development.

Specifically, the province will promote the transfer and application of science and technology, promote cleaner production, save natural resources, protect the environment, and increase the proportion of deep processing and refined processing in the product value chain.

At the same time, Ca Mau will promote trade connection activities for typical rural industrial products and OCOP products, aiming to improve competitiveness, expand consumption markets, especially export markets.

The Department will also direct the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion to coordinate with localities to guide, support and promptly remove difficulties for beneficiaries, ensuring that the national and local industrial promotion programs in 2025 are implemented on schedule, on target and in compliance with legal regulations. At the same time, information and propaganda will be enhanced, and communication content and methods will be innovated, contributing to improving the effectiveness of accessing and implementing support policies.
