Developing a green, circular, low-carbon economy is an inevitable development orientation for Vietnam to ensure sustainable development. At the COP26 Conference, the Prime Minister of Vietnam committed to achieving zero net emissions by 2050. To achieve this goal, the green transformation wave has spread strongly, in which the business sector is the pioneering force, playing an important and key role.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Agriculture and Environment sector, the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper published a series of articles entitled “Enterprises creating a green future”, showing the efforts, mottos, models, and good practices of enterprises when going green. This is a concrete demonstration of enterprises when integrating into the flow of the global green economy.
Currently, Vietnam has a total of 6 units that have achieved carbon neutral certification according to PAS 2060:2014 standards, of which 2 are affiliated with TH Group . They are TH Milk Joint Stock Company (operating TH Fresh Milk Processing Factory) and Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited (operating Nui Tien Pure Water, Herbs and Fruit Factory).
This achievement is remarkable in the context of the Prime Minister's commitment at COP 26 that Vietnam will achieve net zero emissions by 2050. As one of the pioneering corporations applying high technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, TH wants to accompany the Vietnamese Government in the fight against climate change.
TH Group affirms its readiness to participate in the Government's mandatory carbon market. To move towards net zero emissions, it is mandatory to reduce emissions and go carbon neutral. Not to mention, carbon neutrality also contributes to global integration and enhances competitiveness when participating in demanding markets.

The numbers speak for themselves.
In 2023, the total amount of carbon that TH Group neutralized at TH Milk Joint Stock Company was more than 26,600 tons and at Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited was more than 11,600 tons. Mr. Arghya Mandal - General Director of TH Milk Joint Stock Company said that after achieving carbon neutrality for the first phase - 2023, the two member units of TH committed to maintaining the status of Carbon Neutrality permanently, in which the PAS 2060 standard will be maintained until December 31, 2028, and then neutralized according to the ISO 14068 standard.
To achieve carbon neutrality, the two companies have promoted activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through effective solutions to reduce energy use, convert to green energy, improve equipment and technology, and effectively manage waste.
For TH Milk Joint Stock Company, in 2023, the TH true MILK fresh milk factory operated by the company stopped running the FO oil (fossil fuel) boiler and completely replaced it with a biomass boiler (this initiative alone helps reduce emissions by more than 7,000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year). All high-pressure metal halide bulbs at the factory have been replaced with LED bulbs, helping to save electricity.
Along with that, the Factory applies a series of initiatives to both reduce emissions and improve production efficiency such as: installing frequency converters to control cold storage compressors, replacing low-efficiency blowers with high-efficiency air blowers using Turbo Blower technology; resetting the compressed air pressure used on production lines; installing steam valve insulation, etc.
Many other emission reduction activities are also carried out at TH Milk Joint Stock Company such as planting new trees, reducing the use of plastic materials, raising employee awareness of saving water, saving energy, limiting waste to the environment; using shuttle buses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from personal vehicles; increasing the use of renewable energy in production activities.

Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited focuses on plastic reduction solutions, such as: eliminating shrink wrap on bottle caps, reducing the weight of plastic bottles, and reducing the thickness of plastic labels. Thanks to this chain of solutions, the company reduces about 600 tons of plastic per year.
The company also implements many solutions in the energy sector such as: Controlling building management systems, controlling lighting systems, insulating pipes, saving electricity in offices and factories, applying flexible production processes. For example, during peak hours, the factory limits the use of large energy-consuming equipment to optimize energy efficiency. Nui Tien factory is currently actively promoting cooperation to expand the solar power system.
With the goal of carbon neutrality and further Net Zero, TH Group not only implements emission reduction solutions at the two above-mentioned member units, but also deploys many synchronous initiatives throughout the system.
One of the most remarkable results - the most "telling number" at the TH farm system, is that thanks to the application of advanced waste treatment technologies, the farms have reduced about 70% of methane (CH4) emissions - compared to conventional methods. Waste in the livestock farming process is treated by separating water, composting to create organic fertilizer or bedding material for cow barns.
With the same goal of reducing CH4 emissions, experts from TH Group have researched and tested by-products that help reduce CH4 emissions during the digestion and fermentation process in the cow's stomach. However, this solution is still in the process of testing and evaluation because it is necessary to consider the level of impact on milk quality.
In addition, TH Group also planted a lot of moso bamboo in the campus area of factories and headquarters. This is a tree species with the ability to grow quickly and absorb large CO2.

TH's experience
Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy, Director of Sustainable Development of TH Group, shared that TH Group's carbon neutral strategy is implemented in 3 main steps: First is to inventory greenhouse gases at the facility, then reduce greenhouse gas emissions during operation and finally offset the remaining emissions.
To reduce emissions, TH chooses to convert fuels, technologies, replace optimal operating methods, build a system to measure and report emissions. Along with that is changing awareness and behavior towards greenhouse gas emission activities.
With the amount of emissions that need to be offset, TH Group prioritizes participating in green projects that are assessed by reputable units, bringing environmental and economic benefits as well as social and community values, although the carbon market is diverse with many types of credits with many different methodologies and price ranges.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Agriculture and Environment Day and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will organize a series of events from July to December 2025. The focus will be on the 80th anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, held on the morning of November 12, 2025 at the National Convention Center (Hanoi) with more than 1,200 delegates attending.
