Checking the progress of the project "Application of science and technology in chestnut seed production, serving the expansion of chestnut tree area in Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province"

On October 27, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Cao Bang province inspected and evaluated the progress of the project "Application of science and technology in chestnut seed production to expand the area of ​​Trung Khanh chestnut trees in Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province", organized and chaired by Nasan Green Limited Liability Company (LLC) in Dam Thuy commune. Comrade Nong Thanh Than - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology was the Head of the delegation.

Chestnut tree nursery model in Dam Thuy commune

The delegation conducted a field inspection of 02 chestnut tree nursery models in Dam Thuy commune; reviewed progress reports, records, and documents proving the progress of the project implementation. The inspection showed that the host unit and the implementation team are implementing the tasks according to the approved schedule and content. The project will be implemented over a period of 24 months, from December 2023 to December 2025, with the following results:

01 hectare of Trung Khanh chestnut tree nursery was built, well cared for and grown, meeting the standards for propagation work; 01 nursery with an area of ​​500 m², operating stably, has provided about 15,000 seedlings/year meeting new planting standards; 2-3 propagation technicians were trained to complete the training content, master the technical process of propagation, care and management of the nursery; basic activities were implemented according to technical processes, ensuring requirements on quality and progress; financial management, funding for purchasing materials, equipment and organizing human resources were effective. The initial results of the task have high practical significance, creating a source of quality seeds, contributing to the conservation and expansion of the area of ​​Trung Khanh specialty chestnut trees, serving the development of the local agricultural economy .

The inspection team requested Nasan Green Company Limited to continue to focus human resources, overcome difficulties and obstacles to complete the remaining contents, specifically: Organize field conferences to introduce model results, exchange techniques and evaluate actual effectiveness; complete the dossier for recognition of special circulation of Trung Khanh Cao Bang chestnut varieties; supplement and update technical data, evaluate the quality and growth level of the original chestnut tree garden to serve as a basis for official acceptance; develop a plan to maintain management and care of the original chestnut tree garden and the seedling nursery to ensure the maintenance of the operation of the two gardens after the mission ends./
