Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai said that National Highway 29 connecting Dak Lak and Phu Yen is about 180 km long, with a total investment of more than VND10,000 billion and a scale of 4 lanes. This upgraded and renovated route will create favorable conditions for people to travel, trade goods, and promote socio -economic development of the two localities.

It is known that National Highway 29 is currently a basic level IV mountainous road, with a road surface width of 5.5 m to 16 m, and a road surface structure of asphalt concrete and asphalt-paved crushed stone.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction ) had studied and established the Project to Upgrade National Highway 29 through Dak Lak province. However, due to the limited allocation of the Ministry's medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025, in addition to adjusting the reallocation to localities, the remaining resources were focused on important and urgent driving projects under the direction of the National Assembly and the Government, so it was not possible to balance to implement new projects, including National Highway 29.
