The provincial Statistics Office forecasts that the province's GRDP growth in 2024, excluding oil and gas, is likely to reach 7% to 8.1%. Of which, the industrial and construction sector will increase by 7.69%, services by 3.52%, and agriculture, forestry and fishery by 3.48%. This is an outstanding result, especially in the context of the difficult world and domestic economy last year. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Mai Ngoc Thuan said that the province has focused on developing the domestic market and public investment to create spillover effects and stimulate development in other sectors. The provincial government has acted quickly to help businesses overcome difficulties and strengthen infrastructure to promote economic growth. Important projects such as the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway and Phuoc An Bridge have started construction as planned, helping to create jobs and increase public investment capital to more than VND 16,000 billion by the end of 2023. In addition to accelerating the progress of public investment projects, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province also focuses strongly on resolving difficulties and obstacles of businesses and investors for projects in the area. According to information from the Provincial People's Committee Office, during the process of holding meetings so far, the Provincial People's Committee has spent a lot of time to resolve difficulties and obstacles that businesses and investors face, especially in 2023. Meetings take place not only at noon and in the afternoon but also in the evening and on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays. The Special Working Group on Resolving Difficulties for Enterprises and Investors (Group 997) of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province was established on May 17, 2023 and has received and successfully handled 18/47 issues and recommendations raised to date. Another important event is that the province has chaired and organized seminars and conferences to create bridges and connect the supply and demand of goods, materials, and raw materials between enterprises, manufacturers, and consumers in the province and the region, in order to facilitate the development of production and business and promote economic growth. One of the notable events is the Conference on connecting the supply chain of production materials for offshore renewable energy projects, held on August 7, 2023, for the Petroleum Technical Services Corporation to introduce the potential and demand for steel to steel enterprises and business associations in the province. At the same time, on December 15, 2023, the province also organized a workshop on connecting the petrochemical product supply chain between manufacturing enterprises and mid- and downstream enterprises.

Chairman of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Mr. Pham Van Triem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Phuoc Thinh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company, commented that over the past year, the province has taken drastic and specific actions to support businesses. A typical example is Plan 38/KH-UBND on supporting small and medium enterprises, issued promptly by the province, which has helped many businesses overcome difficulties and restore growth momentum. Thanks to these efforts, by the end of 2023, Ba Ria-Vung Tau had achieved more than VND 95,000 billion in budget revenue, exceeding VND 6,400 billion compared to the Resolution. More than 2,000 newly registered enterprises, up 5.58% compared to 2022, only 342 dissolved enterprises, down 6.3% compared to last year, and nearly 1,100 enterprises resumed operations. Average income per capita at actual prices reached nearly VND 193 million/person/year, equivalent to USD 8,078/person/year, an increase of USD 278/person compared to 2022. In 2023, the province succeeded in attracting an additional VND 61,600 billion in new investment capital and additional capital from projects, reaching the equivalent of USD 2.52 billion. This is a remarkable step forward, with a growth of more than 26% compared to 2022 and reaching nearly 149% of the annual plan. Of these, FDI attraction is particularly significant, with figures reaching over 1.4 billion USD, an increase of 92% compared to 2022. These figures create a positive signal, providing a solid foundation for the province's development in 2024./.
