Earlier that day, at around 10:30 AM, Ms. TTH went to the Agribank Vĩnh Linh branch to conduct a transaction. There, she appeared anxious and urged bank staff to quickly transfer over 150 million VND to the account of an unknown person, someone she had only befriended via Zalo, for the purpose of charitable donation.

Noticing something unusual, the bank teller advised and explained the situation, but Ms. H. refused to listen and insisted on transferring the money. Notably, Ms. H. had never met the recipient before and did not know their whereabouts; the account number also did not match the recipient's name.

Immediately afterwards, the bank contacted the Vinh Linh Commune Police for assistance. After receiving and verifying the information, the commune police quickly approached the victim, reassured her, and explained that this was a sophisticated scam. Thanks to their intervention and explanation, Ms. H. realized the truth, stopped all transactions, and secured her assets.

The Vinh Linh commune police advise residents to be vigilant and absolutely not comply with any requests to transfer money via phone from individuals impersonating official agencies such as the People's Police, People's Court, People's Procuracy, etc.; and not to provide personal information, bank account details, or OTP codes to strangers. In similar situations, residents should remain calm and immediately contact the nearest police station for assistance and guidance.
