On behalf of the National Assembly's Committee on Science , Technology and Environment, there were Vice Chairmen: Nguyen Tuan Anh; Ta Dinh Thi; Le Thi Thuy; Standing members of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; and leaders of the Committee's units.
The signing aims to strengthen coordination between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment (KH,CN&MT) to ensure timely and effective implementation of the functions, tasks and powers of each Agency in accordance with the provisions of law.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy informed that the two agencies have had a close relationship for many years and have good coordination in building and monitoring legal policies in the fields of environment, land, minerals, sea and islands, biodiversity, etc.
In the coming time, with the workload assigned to both units, Director Le Quang Huy hopes that the two agencies will continue to promote the close relationship as in the past time to have the best products to meet the development of practice.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, providing information on current challenges such as ocean plastic waste, the impact of climate change, restoring "dead" rivers, and treating polluting waste, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh said that good coordination between the two agencies will draw lessons and practical experiences from the implementation of legal policies, the development and mobilization of resources, and the sense of responsibility for implementing laws in localities, businesses, and people, thereby continuing to improve institutions and policies.
Minister Dang Quoc Khanh said that good coordination between the two agencies will achieve the best work results, with high consensus in assigned common tasks, towards the highest goal and requirement of sustainable management and use of resources, protecting people's health, ensuring the quality of the living environment, conserving biodiversity and ecosystems.
Agreeing with the Chairman of the Science, Technology and Environment Committee Le Quang Huy, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh said that the coordination program between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the National Assembly's Science, Technology and Environment Committee will have a common product for both sides to report to the Party Congress on the country's socio-economic development orientation associated with environmental protection in the coming time.
Immediately after signing, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh and Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy requested the focal units of the two agencies to urgently deploy specific activities to realize the contents of work coordination.

The two agencies consulted and contributed opinions on draft laws, ordinances, and draft resolutions of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee, and contents related to the following fields: water resources; environmental protection; hydrometeorology, remote sensing; climate change; surveying and mapping; geology, minerals; integrated management of resources and protection of the marine and island environment, national marine spatial planning, especially contents in the Law and Ordinance Building Program for the 15th National Assembly term;
The two agencies coordinate in activities to supervise the implementation of laws and resolutions of the National Assembly, ordinances and resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment on contents related to the fields of: resource management, environmental protection, climate change response; water resources; hydrometeorology; surveying and mapping; remote sensing; geology, minerals; supervise the implementation of policies on resource management, environmental protection, and climate change response in the country's socio-economic development plans and programs; prepare Government reports on environmental protection work nationwide to submit to the National Assembly; and budget implementation for environmental protection tasks;
Support and implement topics, projects, research activities, propose initiatives to build policies and laws in the fields of operation of the two Agencies; survey activities, conferences, seminars, cooperation with domestic and foreign experts, build scientific, theoretical and practical foundations to serve the professional activities of the two Agencies;
Coordinate, build databases and share information on water resources; environment; hydrometeorology; climate change, remote sensing; surveying and mapping; integrated management of resources and protection of marine and island environment; results of activities of the two sides in the field of resources and environment in a connected, updated, comprehensive and proactive manner.
According to the signed minutes, annually, the leaders of the two sides agree on specific coordination contents, organize an assessment of the implementation situation, and at the same time develop and adjust the implementation plan and content in the following period to suit the requirements of the tasks and reality.
