Signing of coordination regulations in classifying wood processing and exporting enterprises

This afternoon, October 17, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Tri held a conference to sign a coordination regulation in classifying wood processing and exporting enterprises in the province with 10 related departments, branches and sectors.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, in the province, there are 53 factories trading, producing and processing forest products licensed for investment.

Of which, there are 41 factories in operation; 151 forest product processing and trading establishments with a design capacity of over 2,500,000 tons/year and an operating capacity of over 1,500,000 tons/year. The annual output of exploited planted forest wood in the province is about 1,000,000 ^m3 .

The province’s wood processing and forestry trade sector has made great strides in recent years, dominating the domestic market. Up to now, the consumption rate in the provincial market is 46.55%; the market outside the province is 53.45%.

In addition to MDF wood products, every year, forest product production and processing establishments in the province also produce and supply to other provinces and serve the export of hundreds of thousands of tons of finger jointed wood panels and energy pellets through Lao Bao International Border Gate and Cua Viet Port.

At the conference, representatives of relevant departments and branches signed a coordination regulation in classifying wood processing and exporting enterprises in the province.

The Regulations clearly stipulate the principles of coordination; the competent authority to receive and classify enterprises; the agency in charge of and coordinating in the implementation of enterprise classification; and the content of information exchanged to serve the classification of enterprises.

At the same time, it stipulates the responsibilities of departments and branches in exchanging, providing, and publicizing information on registration and establishment of enterprises related to wood processing and export; compliance with legal regulations on environment, fire prevention and fighting; monitoring the import and export of forest products of enterprises; tax and labor laws; handling enterprises that violate the law in the field of management...
