Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and summarizing the emulation movement "Old age, bright example" for the period 2021 - 2025

On the morning of April 29, the Provincial Association of the Elderly (NCT) held a meeting to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (May 10, 1995 - May 10, 2025) and summarize the emulation movement "Old age, bright example" for the period 2011-2025.

At the conference, delegates reviewed the traditions of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and the Vinh Phuc Provincial Association of the Elderly. In 1995, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly was established, marking a new step in the work of mobilizing, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly in the period of national renewal. Since then, the Association of the Elderly at all levels has grown steadily, becoming a widespread social organization, a common home for more than 17 million elderly people nationwide.

Along with the development of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the Provincial Association of the Elderly has made many practical and effective contributions to the cause of building an increasingly rich and civilized homeland. Up to now, the organization system of the Association of the Elderly in the whole province has been consolidated, including the Provincial Association of the Elderly and 9 district and city-level associations; 121 commune-level associations; 1,236 branches and groups with more than 171,000 members. The quality of association activities has been increasingly improved, contributing to building a strong grassroots political system, maintaining security and order, and promoting socio-economic development.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the Elderly Association at all levels in the province has promoted the emulation movement "Old age, bright example", making many positive contributions in all areas of social life.

Implementing the movement "Old age, bright example", the elderly have promoted their role, actively built the great national unity bloc, made great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the nation; at the same time, made important contributions to maintaining political stability, ensuring social order and safety in the locality.

The province has more than 15,000 elderly people who are party members, nearly 10,000 elderly people participating in the work of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations. Promoting the role of prestigious people in the family and social community, the province has more than 1,400 mediation teams with more than 9,300 mediators, including more than 1,800 elderly people participating.

In economic development, the whole province currently has nearly 99,000 elderly people directly participating in production, business services, and traditional occupations. Every year, 100% of elderly members' families register to build cultural families; in 2024, nearly 94% of elderly households will achieve cultural families.

In the emulation movement "Building new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the elderly have donated land, working days and funds to build public works; maintain environmental sanitation; from 2021 to 2024, the elderly have donated more than 19,000 m2 of land, contributed more than 91,000 working days to build traffic, irrigation and school works. In any field, the elderly are always exemplary leaders, a shining example for their families, children and society to follow.
