Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Preschool Education, Hanoi National University of Education

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thi Lam - Head of the Faculty of Preschool Education (Hanoi National University of Education) emphasized that the 40-year journey of formation and development is closely linked to the growth of modern Vietnamese preschool education.

“We are proud to meet again the teachers who laid the foundation and contributed to affirming the reputation and position of the faculty over the past four decades” - Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thi Lam shared.

Established on November 22, 1985, the Faculty of Kindergarten (now the Faculty of Preschool Education) was born from the strategic vision of Minister of Education Nguyen Thi Binh and the pioneering of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuyet, who was assigned the responsibility of building the first university-level preschool teacher training model in Vietnam.

In the early days, the department had only 4 core staff, but with enthusiasm and a desire for innovation, the teachers translated, compiled programs, teaching materials, and trained hundreds of students - who later became the core team of the preschool education sector in the country.

Former students of the Faculty of Preschool Education, Hanoi National University of Education came back to celebrate the class reunion.

After 40 years of development and growth, the Faculty of Preschool Education (Hanoi National University of Education) is currently the only unit in the country that trains all levels of undergraduate, master and doctoral degrees in preschool education.

The Faculty presides over many scientific research topics at the Ministry, State and international levels, publishes hundreds of textbooks and reference materials for training, and cooperates with many prestigious universities and research institutes in the world, contributing to enhancing the academic position of Hanoi National University of Education.

During its four-decade journey, the faculty has trained tens of thousands of students, trainees, and graduate students – many of whom are now leading experts, researchers, and preschool education managers at the central and local levels.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thi Lam affirmed that the greatest value that generations of teachers and students of the Faculty of Preschool Education have built over the past 40 years is a progressive, democratic, creative and humane scientific environment - all for children.

Entering a new phase, the Faculty of Preschool Education continues to promote tradition, strengthen research, expand cooperation, and contribute to creating a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of Vietnamese children - the future buds of the country.
