On the morning of October 31, at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training organized the 2nd Preschool Education Development Connection Festival, school year 2025 - 2026. The event gathered leaders of the Department of Education and Training, education departments, hundreds of managers, teachers and representatives of businesses and organizations accompanying preschool education.

Ms. Le Thuy My Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized: “Preschool education is the first level in the national education system, an important foundation for the comprehensive development of each person. Therefore, mobilizing social resources is the key solution to improve quality, ensure safety and move towards international integration”.
After merging administrative boundaries, Ho Chi Minh City currently has 5,217 preschools, with more than 44,000 staff, teachers and more than 521,000 children studying. To meet the growing scale, the City's education sector has focused on socialization and digital transformation, including many key areas such as electronic data management, digital learning materials, providing safe food, applying technology in teaching and especially organizing English for children.

According to Ms. Luong Thi Hong Diep, Head of the Preschool Education Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training), there are currently more than 2,000 preschools in the city organizing English familiarization activities for children. Up to this point, more than 206,000 preschool children have had access to English through various forms of experience.
Ms. Diep said: “Introducing children to English is not just about teaching vocabulary or simple songs, but creating a natural language environment, helping children develop their thinking, reflexes and communication confidence. This is an important stepping stone when children enter primary school.”

This policy is implemented in accordance with Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW of the Politburo and especially Decision No. 2371/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Making English the second language in schools for the period 2025 - 2035, with a vision to 2045".
This year’s festival also saw the active participation of many businesses in the fields of technology, learning materials, educational toys, food and foreign languages. Through exhibition booths and networking activities, the units introduced many new solutions such as AI storytelling robots, school management software, children’s assessment applications, or English learning models through STEM/STEAM games.

Ms. Mai Yen Hang, Principal of 19/5 City Kindergarten, shared: “Coordinating the assessment of English proficiency for preschoolers helps teachers better understand children’s language development and adjust appropriate methods. Children learn through experience, so the earlier they are exposed to a foreign language, the more natural their reflexes will be.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Pham Bao Hanh, Principal of Tan Phong Kindergarten, Tan Hung Ward, emphasized the importance of modern facilities in implementing new educational methods: "Technological equipment and creative learning spaces help children be interested, proactive in exploring, and at the same time support teachers in effectively applying STEM/STEAM methods."
In addition to honoring the 16 principals of preschool professional clusters assigned to be in charge of professional work, the event is also an opportunity to connect the network of businesses accompanying preschool education in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will continue to expand the public-private partnership model, focusing on digital transformation, training digital capacity for teachers, developing innovative learning materials and promoting international cooperation in preschool education.

“Preschool education can only truly develop when it is nurtured by love for the profession, creativity of teachers and the cooperation of the whole society,” Ms. Le Thuy My Chau affirmed.
With that orientation, Ho Chi Minh City is gradually building a dynamic, modern and integrated learning environment, where each child is not only loved and cared for but also has the first door opened to the world of global languages.
