In the first 6 months of 2025, the province's industrial and construction sector achieved a growth rate of 6.3%. To reach the annual growth rate of 10.12%, the industry and trade sector set a growth target of 11.4% in the third quarter and 15.5% in the fourth quarter.

To achieve that, the output of key products of the industrial and construction sectors needs to grow accordingly. Specifically, in the industrial sector, the output of shrimp and other aquatic products processing reaches 368 thousand tons, the output of commercial gas reaches 1,800 million ^m3 , the output of electricity production reaches 8,213.05 million kWh, the output of fertilizer reaches 1,140,000 tons... In the construction sector, it is necessary to develop 610 social housing units, the urbanization rate reaches about 40%, the total investment capital of society reaches 72,000 billion VND; strive to disburse public investment capital to reach 100% of the capital plan assigned at the beginning of the year...

Promote processing and energy industries

Determined to accelerate the province's breakthrough, the industry and trade sector focuses on implementing groups of solutions. The focus is on promoting industrial production, especially in the processing and energy sectors. The sector will accompany and support factories in the Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer cluster to maintain stable operations, increase gas-electricity output, thereby increasing the output of commercial gas and liquefied gas. Advise the Provincial People's Committee to register to work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO), and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation to review and have a comprehensive plan to ensure a stable and sustainable gas supply for the Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer cluster and increase the allocation of mobilized electricity output in the last 6 months of 2025 to the maximum capacity of gas supply for Ca Mau 1 and 2 power plants.

The industry and trade sector accompanies and supports factories in the Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer cluster to maintain stable operations, increase gas-electricity output, thereby increasing the output of commercial gas and liquefied gas.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that the industry also supports seafood processing factories to operate stably, including creating conditions for the provincial Seafood Processing and Export Association to approach processing enterprises in the old Bac Lieu area, thereby mobilizing enterprises with the need to join the association. Strive to put into commercial operation Ca Mau Wind Power Plant 1A, 1B with a capacity of 176 MW; speed up the construction progress of Bac Lieu Wind Power Plant phase 3 with a capacity of 141 MW, aiming to complete 99 MW by the end of the year. In addition, the industry and trade sector coordinates with relevant agencies and units to remove difficulties and obstacles, speed up the progress of renewable energy projects (wind power, solar power), LNG power projects, contributing to creating new growth momentum for the province. Monitor slow-progressing projects in the Southern region to promptly submit to the Prime Minister for investment priority policies in the adjusted Power Plan VIII (expansion of Ca Mau Thermal Power Plant 1 and 2, capacity of 1,500 MW).

Organize work with import-export enterprises and customs agencies in the province to grasp the import-export situation. Support export enterprises to expand market share in traditional markets; seek and expand exploitation of new markets, potential markets, and Halal markets through introducing fairs, exhibitions, and connecting trade between provincial enterprises and international enterprises. Continue to take advantage of opportunities to maximize the advantages of free trade agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed, striving for export turnover in 2025 to reach 2.6 billion USD or more.
