La Gi urgently prepares Dinh Thay Thim festival to welcome tourists

Currently, La Gi town is urgently completing preparations to contribute to making Dinh festival an attractive tourism product that attracts people and domestic and foreign tourists.

This year's Dinh Thay Thim Cultural Tourism Festival will officially take place over 3 days: October 9, 10, 11 (ie September 14, 15, 16 of the lunar calendar). It is an honor for La Gi town that on January 12, 2022, Dinh Thay Thim Festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture - Sports - Tourism and included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage. It is also the 25th anniversary of Dinh Thay Thim being recognized as a national relic (September 27, 1997 - September 27, 2022).

With such important events, aiming for a truly solemn festival, creating cultural features and beautiful impressions in the hearts of visitors from near and far, these days, in the Palace area, the preparation work is being shared by members of the Management Board and 7 branches.

More than 350 fishtail flags and 200 string flags were hung along the roads leading to the relic site, the road to the area of ​​Thay Thim's tomb, 2 large billboards with a total area of ​​60 m2 were arranged near the Palace bus station and in front of the main gate of the Palace, serving the festival promotion work.

All the work has been started quite early, especially the area displaying the legends for this year's festival season has been completely renovated. With investment and careful attention to be able to recreate the most authentic life, as well as the grace and help for the people of the two "virtuous gentlemen, virtuous ladies and gentlemen", helping visitors to enjoy and understand more clearly the legend of Thay and Thim.

As a member of the Palace Management Board, Mr. Vo Thanh Phu, like many others, regularly, every year, during each festival season, is busy with all the stages to contribute a small part of his efforts to serve the success of the festival. For him, "it is an honor, a happiness and also to show gratitude to the virtues of the Master and his wife who have brought peace and goodness to his family," Mr. Phu confided.

To create the best conditions for visitors to participate in the festival, the Palace Management Board also invested in a separate community living area, which can meet the needs of eating and resting for about 150 people, avoiding the situation of causing environmental pollution and lack of aesthetics. In addition, it also mobilized sponsors to generously serve meals during the 2 main days of the festival.

In 2021, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Dinh Thay Thim festival could not be held. Therefore, if the weather conditions are favorable, the number of visitors to the festival is expected to be very large. Therefore, the Dinh Management Board has also been proactive and made many work plans. The implementation of 2K in epidemic prevention is emphasized.

In addition to providing masks and disinfectants, a department is also assigned to remind visitors; Environmental sanitation is given special attention, from the inner and outer areas of the Palace, many trash bins are arranged, and the Town Public Works Management Board supports 10 garbage collection stations and trucks.

At the same time, 30 sanitation workers, divided into 3 teams, will be in charge 24/7 at the Palace and the tomb of Thay - Thim before, during and after the festival; Members of the Management Board, security guards and members of the Palace, police officers from Tan Hai and Tan Tien communes, along with reinforcements from La Gi town police will be on duty continuously to take charge of security, order, traffic safety and fire prevention and fighting during the festival. In addition, the Management Board also maintains the operation of 18 security cameras in the Palace, the tomb of Thay and the parking area, to enhance safety and security for visitors.

Along with the DT719 route, the road from the Palace to the area of ​​Thay Thim's tomb has also just been renovated, related roads have also been repaired and traffic diversion plans have been made to avoid congestion, serving the travel needs of tourists more conveniently and easily.

Unlike every year, instead of taking place in the evening, the opening ceremony of the Dinh Thay Thim cultural and tourism festival will take place at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th day of the 9th lunar month. At 8 p.m. on the same day, at the Dinh stage, there will be a music and dance program performed by artists from Ho Chi Minh City. And it includes traditional rituals: Welcoming the gods - receiving the royal decree of Thay and Thim, the ceremony of entering the temple to install the altar, offering incense in memory of Thay and Thim, giving food and wealth, the ceremony of inviting births, the death anniversary of ancestors and worshiping soldiers...

In parallel, the festival with folk games held at Nganh Tam Tan beach, such as: Lion - Lion - Dragon performance, tug of war, fish carrying, basket carrying, and net weaving competition, etc. will contribute to creating more unique features for the festival.
