Within the framework of the program, on the afternoon of March 28, a meeting was held to introduce Lai Chau destination to associations and travel agencies in Hanoi. Attending the conference were Mr. Tran Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism ; specialized departments, public service units under the Department of Tourism, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and over 50 travel agencies specializing in exploiting the international tourist market (inbound), Tourism Association, Travel Association and Hanoi media agencies.
Mr. Tran Quang Khang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province spoke at the Conference.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Quang Khang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province emphasized: Lai Chau has many unique and quality tourism products, capable of competing in the regional and national markets such as the ASEAN community tourism village - Sin Suoi Ho, the paragliding adventure tourist destination associated with the Dao ethnic cultural experience at Si Thau Chai village or the O Quy Ho Heaven Gate tourist area, the Rong May Glass Bridge tourist area; Pusamcap cave is known as "The First Cave in the Northwest" to the trekking and hiking tourism products on the mountain tops with the highlight "Azalea Flower Season"... Currently, Lai Chau has 20 provincial-level tourist destinations, 01 ASEAN community tourism destination; 133 tourist accommodation establishments (including 1 5-star hotel, 35 hotels from 1 to 3 stars with over 1,500 rooms) and 150 restaurants.

Regarding transport infrastructure serving tourism development, there is currently investment interest with the project of the Lai Chau - Lao Cai expressway connecting with Hanoi , expected to be completed in 2025, and the road tunnel project on National Highway 4D connecting Son Binh commune (Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province) with O Quy Ho ward (Lao Cai province) to shorten travel time from localities to Lai Chau, expected to be completed by 2028. With completed products and services and investment in transport infrastructure, Lai Chau wishes to promote cooperation with travel businesses in Hanoi, to introduce to tourists the typical and unique products of Lai Chau.
At the conference, travel businesses from Hanoi and Lai Chau shared information and difficulties and limitations in building tours to attract visitors to a new potential market like Lai Chau.
Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - Lai Chau International Travel Enterprise spoke at the Conference.
According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, Pu Lai Chau Travel Company: Although possessing rich tourism potential and unique cultural identity, Lai Chau tourism information has not yet reached travel agents (inbound) nationwide... To overcome the above limitations, businesses in the province have promoted the exploitation of different tourism products to gradually position the destination brand such as: trekking products of 6/10 highest peaks of Vietnam in Lai Chau or typical cultural products of the Dao Dau Bang ethnic group in Si Thau Chai village; especially the Lu ethnic group living in a community only found in Lai Chau.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Vice President of UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club spoke at the Conference.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Vice President of Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club shared with the Conference: To support Lai Chau tourism industry to overcome information limitations, Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club will support promoting Lai Chau destination communication on the Club's communication channel system and will prioritize organizing caravan programs to Lai Chau as well as establishing a Lai Chau tour sales alliance to bring tourists to Lai Chau in the near future.
Sharing the same opinion with Mr. Tuan Anh, Mr. Le Hong Thai - Vice President of Hanoi Travel Association commented: Lai Chau is a locality with great potential for tourism development with majestic landscapes and unique cultural identity. However, the locality has not yet really "showed off" all its inherent beauty, has not created a worthy breakthrough. To exploit the rich tourism resources, Lai Chau needs to proactively connect and share information through connecting groups, official channels to support businesses; organize training courses, improve service skills at accommodation establishments, service business units and need to have solutions for the plan of increasing visitors.
According to Mr. Le Hong Thai, Lai Chau needs to promote communication on social networking platforms with the active participation of the community and local people through promotional clips including cultural elements, products, and services such as the MV "Bac Bling". At the same time, it is necessary to invest in transport infrastructure, attract investment in services (quality accommodation, entertainment...) as a prerequisite to elevate Lai Chau as a destination in the coming period.
The conference also received many comments from other inbound businesses: Lai Chau needs to upgrade the information at the Smart Tourism Portal to be bilingual in Vietnamese and English so that international visitors can easily search and access information; connect with businesses organizing tour programs for the inbound market; clearly define who the market of visitors to Lai Chau is; need to build a strategic product of Lai Chau that does not need to be large, just needs to meet customer service standards, thereby creating a communication effect from the actual experiences of visitors...
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Tran Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism pledged to accompany Lai Chau province in linking and developing tourism between the two localities and in the coming time, Hanoi Department of Tourism will strengthen two-way information connection on media, social networking platforms as well as tourism promotion events of Hanoi; The Department will organize famtrip groups for travel businesses of the capital to Lai Chau to have more products suitable for the market of Hanoi and international visitors, thereby promoting the growth of the number of visitors from the capital to Lai Chau; ready to support Lai Chau in promoting the image of local destinations at Hanoi's promotional programs in Japan...

Previously, on the morning of March 28, the delegation of Lai Chau province also surveyed and worked with travel agencies and businesses in the Hanoi Old Quarter to introduce the image, products, services, destinations and tours of Lai Chau. Through the work, the parties agreed on a mechanism to promote information, images and tourism products of Lai Chau at Hanoi travel agencies and businesses in the Old Quarter and the inbound businesses in the Old Quarter committed to supporting the introduction of products and tour programs of Lai Chau to international visitors if Lai Chau builds tours connecting destinations and services of Lai Chau to ensure quality.
