Lam Dong provincial leaders attended the tree planting launching ceremony.

On the morning of May 19, at the Military Academy Training Ground (Ward 12, Da Lat City), Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee organized a tree planting launching ceremony on the occasion of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

Attending the event were Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, Leaders of the People's Committee...; On the side of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, there was Mr. Trieu Van Luc - Deputy Director of the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection.

According to Lam Dong provincial leaders, through tree planting, we not only remember Uncle Ho through words, but also through practical actions. Responding to his teachings, over the past years, Lam Dong has widely implemented the movement of planting trees, protecting forests, and living in harmony with nature.

Planting trees demonstrates our responsibility and commitment to the future of the planet. It is an effort to tackle climate change, one of the greatest challenges facing humanity.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong province spoke at the tree planting launching ceremony.

“Every small action of ours is contributing to the construction of a green, clean and beautiful Da Lat city. At the same time, we actively respond to the “Vietnam National 1 Billion Trees Program”, a commitment of Vietnam and an initiative to promote the planting and protection of trees on the planet”, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, representing the leaders of Lam Dong province, spoke at the launching ceremony.

Implementing the Project "Planting one billion trees in the period of 2021-2025" according to Decision No. 524/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister , Lam Dong province must plant 50 million trees of all kinds; from 2021 to the end of 2024, the whole province has planted 38 million trees, reaching 76% of the plan.

To complete the plan, in 2025, Lam Dong must plant 12 million trees of all kinds. This is an extremely important and difficult task because there is not much land left and it must be done in a short time, so local authorities and Party committees must urgently and resolutely implement it scientifically.

Mr. Trieu Van Luc - Department of Forestry and Forestry said, Lam Dong is one of the leading provinces in implementing the Project of planting 1 billion trees.

Leaders of the Department of Forestry and Forestry presented a gift of 5,500 trees from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to Lam Dong province.

Sharing more at the Launching Ceremony, Mr. Trieu Van Luc - Deputy Director of the Department of Forestry and Forestry (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) said: After more than 4 years of implementing the Project "Planting one billion trees in the period of 2021-2025" approved by the Prime Minister, it has achieved high results.

Up to now, the whole country has planted 980 million trees (reaching 98% of the project's target). In particular, Lam Dong is one of the leading provinces compared to the whole country, with more than 38 million trees planted and cared for; the province continues to manage and protect well over 538 thousand hectares of existing forests, developing the potential for forest environmental services; maintaining a stable forest cover rate of more than 54%, this is a practical result contributing to the overall development achievements of the entire forestry sector.

In the coming time, Mr. Luc hopes that Lam Dong will continue to pay attention to implementing well some contents such as: Propagating, raising awareness about the role, effects, and significance of tree planting and afforestation; Each locality will develop a plan for tree planting, afforestation, developing non-timber forest products, and combining agroforestry production with the general socio-economic development plan of the province.

At the same time, launch an emulation movement to achieve achievements in completing and exceeding the tree planting plan targets according to the Project to plant 1 billion trees in the period of 2021 - 2025; Strengthen the management of forestry seed quality, increase the issuance of sustainable forest management certificates, planting area codes, etc.

On this occasion, Lam Dong planted 2,550 trees including three-leaf pine and cherry blossom.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, Lam Dong provincial leaders, leaders of the Department of Forestry and Forestry Rangers and delegates planted more than 2,500 trees including three-leaf pine and cherry blossom. On this occasion, the Department of Forestry and Forest Rangers representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment presented Lam Dong province with 5,500 black star trees, which will be distributed to be planted in districts with hot climates such as Da Huoai, Di Linh, etc.
