At the scene, the delegation surveyed and made a preliminary assessment of the landslide situation at Km262+400 at the end of National Highway 20 connecting to National Highway 27 to Phan Rang; at the same time, listened to a number of units and localities quickly report on the immediate incident handling plan, the progress of the landslide in recent days, especially the risk of a mass of about 6,000m3 of rock and soil on the pine hill with an area of about 3,500m2 on the positive slope that is cracking open and could collapse onto the road at any time.
Directing at the scene, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that this is an incident that cannot be handled overnight, therefore the Department of Construction, Department of Agriculture and Environment, and other units must report the emergency natural disaster situation, and immediately start surveying, hiring consultants to carefully assess the possibility of landslides, and have short-term and long-term plans to thoroughly handle landslides.

Mr. Muoi also commented that the D'ran Pass is an important local artery connecting to the Phan Rang area. In addition to the serious landslides, there are currently many cracks and subsidence on the road surface, so the police force continues to prohibit vehicles from circulating and properly divert traffic through this location to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
Recorded at the scene on the morning of October 31, the landslide at Km262+400, about 5km from the foot of D'ran Pass, is still very serious. The rock mass above the pine hill on the positive slope is tending to move downwards, many ancient pine trees are tilted due to serious subsidence. Underneath the roadbed leading to the Treo Bridge, large cracks also appeared and continued to subside towards the negative slope, which is very dangerous.

As reported by VNA reporters, the landslide on D'ran Pass occurred on the evening of October 28 after heavy rains. Immediately after the incident, the Traffic Police Department, Lam Dong Provincial Police, in coordination with local forces, blocked off two directions through the landslide section of the pass. The authorities installed warning signs and directed vehicles traveling at the Trai Mat roundabout (connecting National Highway 27C and National Highway 20) in the direction to the center of Da Lat to go to Prenn or Mimosa Pass, to Finom intersection (National Highway 20) to connect to National Highway 27 to Phan Rang and vice versa.
