Innovative thinking - the foundation of development
According to Lam Dong Newspaper, in order for agricultural products to be not only “clean” but also “healthy”, Lam Dong focuses on innovating production thinking. Applying science and technology and digital transformation are considered the key to making the process “from field to table” transparent, creating trust for consumers while protecting the environment.

Over the past years, Lam Dong province has promoted the transformation from traditional production models to high-tech agriculture and smart agriculture. A series of policies to support businesses, cooperatives and people in accessing new technologies have been issued, bringing about clear results.
More and more Lam Dong farmers are proficient in modern technologies: from humidity monitoring sensors, automatic water-saving irrigation systems to crop forecasting data applications and QR code traceability. At the same time, organic farming methods, minimizing chemicals and pesticides are also strongly encouraged.
Some agricultural brands have affirmed their position in the market such as Phong Thuy, Son Tra Company Limited, Xuan Truong Organic Vegetable Cooperative... This is clear evidence for the effectiveness of "greening" in agriculture.
Not only that, the province also promotes public-private cooperation in research and breeding of plant and animal breeds suitable for climate and soil conditions. Many varieties of vegetables, flowers and fruit trees have formed their own brands, creating a competitive advantage for Lam Dong agricultural products.
Overcome challenges to break through
Possessing diverse climatic and ecological conditions, Lam Dong has great advantages for developing green agriculture. The goal that the province is aiming for is an agriculture that not only achieves high productivity but also minimizes negative impacts on the environment, preserves biodiversity and enhances the living values of the community.
However, the journey of “greening” still faces many obstacles: small-scale production, high clean technology costs, unsynchronized infrastructure, and lack of high-quality human resources. In particular, the greenhouse and net house models, although bringing economic benefits, affect the landscape and environment, forcing the province to develop a project to gradually reduce the area.
Mr. Ton Thien San - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province emphasized: "In the coming time, the focus of development will be high-tech agriculture associated with ecology, circulation and urban agriculture."
In addition, the province will invest heavily in science and technology to serve green transformation; build a digital and interconnected database on environment, resources and climate; and apply modern waste treatment and environmental monitoring technology.
The agricultural development orientation is also closely linked to trade, services and tourism. Lam Dong province expects to build key agricultural products with strong brands, meeting high standards in processing, preservation and export.
Towards sustainable green agriculture
Currently, Lam Dong province has about 107,300 hectares of high-tech agriculture and 149,700 hectares of safe production. Lam Dong also aims to eliminate greenhouses in areas encroaching on forest land and in the inner city, while developing models of urban agriculture, landscape tourism, and circular agriculture - all linked to environmental protection and sustainable development.
“Greening” agriculture in Lam Dong is not only a change in production thinking but has become a concrete step, creating momentum for the locality to break through and affirm its position as the leading high-tech agricultural region in the country.
